Venom can be an easy retool of Waspinator.

    Yeah, caught that as well.

Oddly, though, PvP has the correct weaponry. Wouldn't it be funny if his is the incorrect one? lol

Define "easy". A wasp looks nothing like a cicada.

Shrappers landed in my postbox today and I like him more than I was expecting, as my least favourite Insecticon. He feels like good quality and although his transformers is expectedly simple, it's still somewhat satisfying.

I do hope Toyhax bung us a bit of chrome for his mandibles though.

New head. Wings, body and legs are passable. The other option is Hasbro can just say Venom is now an orange wasp

    Much less an organic wasp.

No. Waspinator doesn't look like any of the G1 Insecticons, at all.

I’m not disagreeing with that point but I do think they will cut corners to complete the Deluxe Insecticon set.

Mine arrived today, with the correct weapons. Sadly, it also has a misfired pin in the right knee, causing a big crack at the bottom of the grey painted bit. It still works, just takes some squeezin’ to get in place for ‘insect’ mode. He’s currently sold out on UK Pulse too, so I’ll probably just suck it up. Get another if it ends up on clearance later on.

Hmm not sure should I get him or not.

Is there a review thread yet?

I really doubt they'd break the aesthetic just to complete the set, it would be pointless.

I think they did an impressive sleight of hand with the Buzzworthy Ransack. I have it in front of me, looks nice. Other than a new head, it’s just Kickback who doesn’t resemble G1 Ransack a great deal. They pulled it off. The head and correct colors does a lot to allow our eyes to accept it. I think Hasbro will pull another trick for Venom. Honestly, a Cicada is just another winged bug to an average fan, and most won’t even realize the difference. I’m an amateur Entomologist so I would love it if Hasbro gave us the actual species, but I don’t think so.

Thing with Ransack is both him and Kickback are mechanical bugs so he can pass using that mold, especially when you paint it up in a proper color layout. Waspinator doesn't get this benefit because it's an organic insect, which 100% does not fit in with any of the Insecticons.

Yeah, I get it. Robot insect doesn’t match organic looking insect, but I still think it’s Hasbro’s easiest path. I don’t see a new mold or even a massive retool. I predict they’ll pull a strategic parts swap and match the colors.
