Hasbro wants to breed scalpers. That's why they short pack the most desired. There will no doubt be plenty, if people stop with the fear of missing out and just buy one each. But Hasbro relys on people being greedy passed f****ers, so the game goes on....

 

It occurs to me they might aim for 1 pm EST, and pulse could follow that, if this glitch is a thing and the rest of the wave was to be revealed.

So you're saying Hasbro, which has already sold this stuff to these stores, wants to encourage a high priced secondary market?

I'll take that they don't give a crap, but their only motivations are *their* profits. This is just human behavior. Game theory might be a part of it, I can't remember now

No they know some individuals will buy 2,3,maybe 10, because then they'll sell more boxes of the the other deluxes that will shelf warm. And G2 Motormaster becomes more desirable and hence more profitable. Its retail psychology and it consumes all.

Won't deny there's market psychology here. Not sure I agree with your thoughts on the rest, but we can agree Hasbro likes to play the game

Hasbro doesn't make any money from scalpers. When they're in charge of case assortments, they include more of what they feel is most desirable, because that gets them more money.

 

If they ever do a voyager truck/suv Soundwave in the main Legacy+/Generations line, they could probably retool him as a Ratchet inspired by the Botcon custom Ratchet* and Movieverse Ratchet*. Then they could also sell you a little core Glit (or maybe Sundor or Paradron Medic-decoed Rosanna) as his EMT/nurse partner.

* Prime Universe Ratchet is fine for inspiration, but he should get his own official figure/release.

 

I thought with exclusives it was up to the vendor what the case assortments were? I semi-remember hearing that Walmart only wanted 1 per case of Cosmos...

 

Yeah, Cosmos, the only unique Deluxe, was short packed and not released again. I was lucky to get one.

 

That's why I said "When Hasbro is in charge." Sometimes the vendor has a heavier hand involved! For example, apparently Walmart was convinced they couldn't sell as many of the guy who transforms into a doorbell. Walmart doesn't make money from scalpers either.

 

I mean, you're showing a picture of G2 Ratchet, released. If he weren't available in some manner, that image wouldn't exist.

 

He was unpainted and unassembled in his release, with multiple decal sheets.

i dunno, i'm not convinced walmart had much say in the actual toys.

 

He's not a doorbell, he's an.... accessory for an adult-themed costume.... and you need to buy 2 of him...
