I don't? I can count on my hand the amount of times I have been to the movies in the last decade. If I were to have to do something like that, I would probably purchase tickets for a movie on a weekend after the debut date, because movies aren't only available for 1 hour on a weekday. If you mean music? I also don't do that. So I don't know.

Still holding out hope for more Cosmos at some point. One of the most ignorant and disrespectful moves they've ever made.

Idk about the ignorant or disrespectful (it’s not) but I’m sure more Cosmos will get out there.

Not arguing with any of that, because it is all true. I don't know how I would define the word success here, though, since Walmart doesn't really seem to give a crap one way or another about how these events go. They certainly happen at the same time and sell out.

In my 25+ years of collecting, ordering exclusives on Pulse is just about the easiest it has ever been to secure hard to find exclusive items. You (generally) know the day and time to expect something, and checking out takes about 30 seconds. The store has never crashed, and on only one occasion has ever oversold anything.

The mere fact that you can buy another store's exclusives directly from Hasbro is, in itself, a miracle.

When it comes to desirable items or exclusive anything, there is always a degree of planning you need to take into account. If you're unwilling to mark dates on calendars or make arrangements to be available*, maybe you don't want it enough? If you're unwilling to make an effort because they're "just children's toys" it's hard to take complaints about availability seriously. They've made it so, so easy. But also: these are children's toys, but they are collector's items with limited availability. If you've been at this for any amount of time, expecting to be able to just buy anything at any time is an unreasonable expectation. It sucks, but that's how this thing works.

*I will grant that not everybody has this level of flexibility, or that flexibility may change depending on other situations. If you have an appointment or can't be available, but you know the time and details, asking for assistance from a friend or fellow collector is always a possibility.

Preordered Toxitron. In a few months, the radioactive abomination that shouldn’t exist will be mine.

I can appreciate your points, but I am going to maintain my position that the way exclusive releases are handled is inconvenient. I have been in the collecting game for a long time, and I have gotten in some crazy situations buying toys. I do it because I want to and can, but I always keep in mind the experience. If the experience is bad, I will say it. I make it work, but I don't feel like my flexibility is average or should be expected from someone who is trying to give a company their money.

Premium is worth it to me on the free shipping alone. Between Transformers, Lightning Collection, Classified, and Marvel Legends I'm always shipping something. On top of the 35% off during the warehouse sale, saved $200, $50 for the year is not really that much . The preorder an hour before is just a plus. Now I 100% argee with you that if EVERYONE got the bough into Premium it would cause more people to be able to buy during that time frame , which is why I stopped trying to get people into it.

No one knows at this point apart from Walmart, and maybe Hasbro, it seems the announcement of the Toxitron capsule is either staggered or going about as well as Velocitron Wave 2 did!

Not a single one of us would have made the decision to release him the way that they chose to do so. We all would have known he could sell a lot more units than that. It was not a good business decision for Hasbro any more than it was a good decision for us. It's always 50/50. So yes, it was ignorant, and yes, it was disrespectful because it shows a lack of understanding and care of the fan experience.

Real convenience would be not having to schedule your life around a drop time to preorder an action figure. If that was on offer, I might reconsider my position, but as-is it really doesn't do anything for me.

On the other hand, I ordered $600 worth of figures at 30% off and paid $7 shipping. The free shipping isn't a big deal to me because I structure orders to minimize shipping anyway.

I'm largely sympathetic to the "there is always going to be a time that is unreasonable for some people" argument, but 7:00 am (for the west coast) IS unreasonable, full stop.

I'm not wanting to raise too much of a fuss for myself on this point. I don't care enough about Hound (the only TF I can see that's sold out yet from this morning's drop) that it's an issue. But 7:00 am really is an unreasonable time to be expected to be on a computer.

You wont find them on .ca for a hot minute if ever. If you wanna preorder you're gonna have to use Pulse, or rely on our Walmarts regularly overstocking Wave 1 if this is indeed a one wave deal

I'm definitely preordering Grimlock and Malibu Sideswipe whenever they show up on Pulse, I'll take my chances with Jazz and Toxitron in-store.
