Them not being at retail yet doesn’t mean they haven’t arrived in port. Remember the product has to be sorted and is then sent through many different facilities before arriving on the peg or at online retail warehouses. This isn’t anything new.

 

That’s what I thought as well. He just said Hound was originally supposed to come out in December but got pushed back.

I believe the question was why hound was an exclusive and not in one of the main lines.

 

Not confirmed but I’m sure Hound will be repacked for SS mainline next year.

 

Retools of Siege guys into Earth forms tend to be exclusives. Sideswipe, Mirage, Ironhide, Red Alert, Ratchet, Mirage, Soundwave -- these were all exclusives. I think Megatron and Optimus Prime's shins/toes are the only toys which have bucked these trends. Guys like Seekers and the Datsuns, they got new toys and appeared first in mainline. But Hound's just a retool, so.... exclusive fodder.

I mean, it makes sense. New tooling prioritized for mainline. Retools and redecoes mostly for exclusives.

 

I never said 86 hound or hatchet was in port.

While initial release plans may be cancelled, the figures themselves are not cancelled. Hasbro stated that non movie related exclusives are currently in limbo. They will probably get an eventual release once movie exclusives are done with. That was what was said when asked about Hot Rod, we do not know how many figures fall into this.

That toy was never in ports and as far as any chinese message boards goes, there is no evidence of it having gone into production either (ie no safety inspection, no early copies to buy, ect)

 

I wonder what Hound's vehicle mode is going to look like. I'm guessing it's similar to Siege but with a more Jeep-ish front end? Looks like a retool of Siege mold too.

As for Hatchet I already know what the alternate mode will be like, it's gonna be the same Chevrolet Suburban police vehicle like the other Dreads. Since he does look like a retool of Berserker yeah the transformation is gonna be similar.

I will be honest I like how Hatchet and Hound both turn into off-road vehicles. Two Studio Series Deluxes, assumed to be dead by most of the fandom, but is obviously not dead, with off-road alternate modes.

 

Was wondering whether these weapons are extras for the Legacy Detritus that should be coming, so maybe he wont have them packed with him. But then the Buzzworthy Legacy Hound has them in the render, so we'll have to wait and see. Gonna buy two of these just in case.

 

The "backstory" for the Toxitron Collection subline implies that Jazz had become evil due to toxic liquids or something like that. So it makes sense that he probably killed Hound and stole his weapons.

 

I'd probably become evil too if I went from being the coolest bot around to looking like that.

Detritus would have to be orange for those weapons to be from his run, and he's not orange.
