These legacy G2 listings just get better and better!

 

As someone who loves the absurd and loud colors of G2, I dig these repaints. Glad Toxitron finally gets an official, not convention exclusive figure, along with Cloud Camo Ramjet and rumored Mirage. I probably get most of these, say for: the Stunticons as I have the G2 CW ones, Jazz as it's not based on a canceled G2 color scheme as far as I'm aware, and the rumored Sideswipe, as while it's based on a canceled deco, it doesn't interest me personally.

The two G1 re-releases are also cool, Hound and Thundercracker are two of my favorites, so I might pick these up in the future.

Hopefully down the line we can get some other obscure G2 repaints like Laser Ultra Magnus, Laser Cycle Jazz, and the remaining canceled G2 seekers (Blackout and Jungle Camo Starscream.)

 

Im still a little salty we never got a Combiner Wars version.

 

Out of all of these, I'm only compelled to pick up Cloudcover as some kind of Seeker completionist.

I'm really happy for those G2 diehards who have been waiting in patient obscurity for literally decades, but I'm also really worried about the "all-in" approach to this/these waves.

Certainly, it's going to be more lucrative (theoretically) than releasing yet another variation or package refresh of the same figures/characters from the last 5 years, but G2 90s neon?

How successful that gambit is will remain to be seen. I don't want it to do poorly, but ... I saw G2 languish in ambivalence the first go-around.

 

I find it funny that G2 Starscream still hasn't happened but we're getting yet another newly christened Seeker from G2. And that's not a complaint (well aside from G2 Starscream having not happened yet). I'd complain about the ER mold but if it's here to stay then I look forward to it outdoing the number of Seekers the Classics mold pulled (and it's pleasantly on it's way). Hyped about Toxitron and the other G2 toys as well. Glad they're reaching this deep. Hope we get the other unreleased Dinobots too.

I'm not. I'm dead sea levels of salty about it. I love Bruticus and all but if they were gonna cut one out it should've been that; G2 Menasor being brought to life in full was and is fantastic. G2 Defensor getting the same would have been amazing.

 

Nice to see shadowstrip again. Maybe I will go G2 stunt icons..

 

Yeah I know. People ironically like the garish G2 color schemes, but black and red G2 Sideswipe is legitimately gorgeous.

Really, it was a simple color swap but it works so well.

 

It still boggles my mind that we got almost every combiner from G1 and G2 from CW molds but this set. I know Dev got left out too. I'd still gladly buy both.

 

It is, the art has been posted several times in the thread.

 

Any G1 combiner they do should immediately get a G2 repaint. Except the Combaticon who should immediately get a Ruination repaint followed by G2.

 

Hasbro has shown remarkable restraint with the ER Seeker mold after basically every Seeker ever was done with the Classics mold.

 

Yes, but now it's considered LEGACY. Give any questionable idea ten years, and the cult phenomenon will have built itself.

 

Now the real question is... when are we gonna get a Stepper from the SS86 Jazz mold!?

 

How are there over 40 pages of people confused about these decos? Read like... any page of the thread. Take the 5 minutes.

 

I’m curious what the case assortment is. Who will be this lines Cosmos? G2 Deadend?

 

I actually LOVE that flaming G2 Jazz! Fire! I can't wait to pick this up! Should go with the garish "G2" J. Balvintron nicely.
Cloudcover looks good, might get that too.
Toxitron, maybe on clearance for me. I'm OK with Scourge for now. Very happy for you all who have been waiting for this one!
G2 yellow Grimlock looks great but not sure if I can justify the cost.
Would love to see that yellow G2 Sideswipe and crocodile G2 Mirage as well and that black G2 Starscream.

G1 Hound reissue - no spare tire cover or gas can?

I also kind of wish SS86 Jazz had that missile and launcher. Would love for these to be available in a future weapons pack or something.

 

Maybe the Leader for Wave 2 could be a retool of Laser Prime into this odd thing?
