I’m not a fan either of those white faces (especially when mixed with a mouth plate) which began proliferating with Season 2/Floro Dery templates… Toon/NA Pipes has the same « problem ». But I can live with it. NA’s main paradigm is toon accuracy, so I can’t say it’s a surprise.

And this Viper/Rattler deco is a thing of beauty.

 

It's not a deal breaker, just sometimes nostalgia doesn't match reality, at least for me. Plus there hasn't been any NA minibots with a toy inspired deco unless you count the Insecticons.

Yeah, NA and MS are very Sunbow focused in their design choices. Even the EX decos tend be Sunbow designs with a bit of a toy makeover.

The Viper/Goblin design looks really good. The best execution of Wild Weasel helmet design I've seen. I wish it was Cobra Blue, the purple and red look good.

 

Maybe Reflector could be counted too?

With Powerglide I’m not sure if there’d be enough difference with a toy version to be worthwhile. Same with Beachcomber and Cliffjumper. A battlemasked Bee would be cool though.

It looks good.

 

From the knees up this looks like a very nice little rendition of Powerglide, but I really don't like the the lower legs/feet. Still very cool NA/legends collectors get to have Powerglide in the near future.

Wish the cockpit was painted black. Either way, I still love me some Powerglide.

Seems like an EX version would be simple enough as I think it only needs the one tampo on the chest. If Newage is going to do an EX I hope they hurry up and announce it, so I won't become impatient and order the toon version. Edit: Nevermind, I guess it already has a deco representing the sticker. I guess it'll just be the one version that covers both toon and toy.

 

I preordered the default colors. The articulation is awesome judging by Mangmotion’s video, and I love how they compressed the jet thruster kibble into the lower legs

 

I'm very happy with Bad Boy and Viper but I'm definitely hoping to see Stormcloud as well.

As usual with very small figures, the super zoomed in photos make the seams and gaps look a lot worse than a normal viewing distance. I strongly suspect this figure will look better on the shelf.

 

Absolutely. It also helps to look against comparison pictures of Hasbro offerings too... gads they're crude.

judging from the product images and the layout of all the stuff it comes with I dont think it does, but stuff can change ofc

 

I like what they've shown well enough, but I'd love if they did a toy version that was made with unpainted red plastic. That would be my ideal "toy verse toon" change.

My only criticism is that I think his wings should be a bit more bent. For some reason nearly every update of Powerglide goes with very straight wings. I always loved how the bends curved around the torso on the G1 figure.

 

They are swept upwards. Not enough for ya?

 

yeah i'm with you but i wouldn't hold my breath. looks like they went with only single for each weapon type with asymmetrical wing placement for all the versions.
