This is the first TF I havnt managed to transform.. im not bothered as hes just going in my display in robot mode forever more but for me this model is on the wrong side of the tolerances / clearance line. By the time I had forced the arms open as mentioned by someone else.. had the same issues with the legs, and then got round to crushing the arms together below the bot so the back of the car fits together that had taken all my patience & will. Forcing the roof down was beyond the pale at that point.

Slapped a nice logo on him and welcomed him to the shelf. Have a second on the way from Bombusbee, this is gonna be a bot I want to fiddle with and have on display.

Transformation was a fiddly but over the best representation of him.

Love the fact that the hood badge is hidden in his foot.

Hm, I didn’t get an angry face with mine. Odd. I rarely use that look so not overly bothered, but first time I’ve had an issue out of the box.

    Just transformed one of mine.

Alt mode is awesome. Bot mode looks great but is limited. Transformation is meh. Articulation is average at best. Those ankle rockers are laughable

Easy to sum up. He's my cliff jumper on display for sure but there's certainly room for improvement.

Finally managed to track mine down at the neighbour's house, but only just had time to open it. Initial thoughts:
    • Definitely the most screen-accurate CJ yet (but still not perfect)
    • Faces are a little off - grey is too light, nose too pointy and could have done with a more pronounced chin
    • Changing the face/head is a pain as it's so stiff
    • Pins and screws on the shoulders are too tight (might be able to loosen the latter)
    • Red bar that locks the shoulder pops out of the notch on the left side on mine
    • Bicep and elbow pins are way too loose, as is the thigh rotation
    • Sides have a tendency to unpeg during manipulation
    • Limited articulation (not much head movement, no ab crunch, ankle rockers aren't great, single joints etc)
    • Knees look a little weird
    • A bit boxy (lacks the subtle curves that TT sculpts have)
    • Fiddly transformation
    • Alt mode isn't quite 'chibi' enough
    • Fairly hefty
    • Cleans up well
    • Limited accessories/gimmicks
So yeah, I guess it's very much what I'd expect from a FT release: generally pretty good, with a fair bit of die cast and glossy paint to mask the shortcomings. Will definitely replace Toro on the shelf, but it's not definitive.

Cliffy's looking might fine. Was having a play with Hunk and Rig today, FT's minibots (Dunerider and Seaspray 2.0 heartedly included) are amazing figures. Variator looks a treat too! Looking forward to their Bumblebee and Windcharger announcements to round out S1. Hell, I think I would actually buy an FT Wheelie, and I despise the character!

Cliffjumper is a chibi Porsche 944-9. Based on the penny racers.

No, G1 Cliffjumper is generally recognized as a chibified 924 Turbo, with its add-on fender flares and NACA hood duct.

My comment about the Mitsubishi Starion is aimed at the Earthrise figure, which is intentionally not a Porsche (for licensing reasons), but ends up looking somewhat like the more chiseled Starion/Conquest.

Such a fun little figure. Can’t stop posing him around. My copy is pristine in terms of QC.

20230312_135416.jpg 20230312_135406.jpg Just got mine! The elbows are really loose on my copy. Transformation is a bit fiddly but I never felt anything was going to break. Overall quite happy

The loose elbows, biceps and thighs seem to be a universal thing.
