Is Threezero mdlx Optimus getting a reissue? Noticed it says new product where bumblebee seems to not have anything like that.

In for all the NewAge releases and the FH North American colors Dreadwing guys. Nothing else much grabbed me, but that is more a relief than a disappointment.

Oh, I will have to get the MDLX Threezero Ultra Magnus, as I collect white inner Magnuses. And this one looks really nice.

I was wondering the same thing. The Infinite Finity line needs more than just Eris repaints. Time for an update on Drift, MMC!

Kinda worrisome as a fan. Think I\'m on my way out.  I looked through that whole slideshow to just see one thing I wanted (the MMC tape bot). At some point you\'re just happy with all the MPs you have. Like thst FT scourge looks great. Great enough to sell the Xtransbots one? Not really lol.
 

 

So for legends Iron Factory and Magic Square showed the same images that they showed earlier in the year.

Also yay Iron Factory showing the same exact Liokaiser images for the past 2 years with no progress.

New Age felt like the only major legends company who brought something.

Metagate BB movie Optimus looks neat but the alt mode is a bit of a mess.

 

So, the Astrobots was the most interesting thing. I'm really disappointed in MMC proper this year. Killed it with Astrobots, but nothing else.

 

I hate to say this but after Naval Commander and I like each FH Armada figure less and less and I just don't buy their Magna Jet Convoy at all...
- Jetfire's robot mode is just awful: comically fat legs and tiny shoulders, also wings hanging too low and too far apart from the body


- Shuttle mode is fine but what's with the super high suspension? They really couldn't design the minicon better?


- Jet Optimus is the worst of them all - super lanky and the Pants looks too small again. Just very awkward compared to the cartoon

- They improved Overload so Optimus can at least spread his ear flaps but still, the cannons should rely on his shoulders, not his neck and the head should't be so sunk in. I like the minicon post tho
- Not to mention Tidal Wave that they rightly decided that it needs more work


I just don't get it. Those were such charming and cool designs, why are they trying to reinvent them so much??

 

I think this might just come down to jetfire’s armada designs being a problem in of itself.

 

I mean, the OG toy looks better in terms of overall proportions and back kibble distribution.

 

True, though jetfire himself also doesn’t really have leg articulation so I imagine things like that were a trade off.

 

While I agree with some of the criticisms of FH's Jetfire (and I kind of have no skin in the game because I don't think I'm getting Naval Commander or any of the add-ons), it's worth pointing out that is a VERY early prototype and FH normally makes SIGNIFICANT improvements between the prototype and test shot phases. Think of how janky their Armada Megs looked at that stage and how awesome it ended up being once it actually dropped. I fully expect the final product to be significantly better than what we're seeing now. I'm still REALLY disappointed we didn't get any pics of a more fully developed Tidal Wave though.

 

I just noticed something... the HANDS on Maketoy's newest coneheads are WAAAAAY better than the hands that came on their first three Seekers and their Dirge. What's up with that? Will they come with upgraded hands for the ones I already have? Or did somebody just slap some KFC Seeker hands on them and call it a day? And if so, can they still transform? The crappy hands are one of my major complaints about those molds... having more expressive digits would go a long way to convincing me to buy the last two, especially if they came with upgrades for the four I already have.

(I'm so iffy on the set I still have Dirge MISB. I'm not even opening the damn thing until I decide whether I'm getting the last two. And I've had it for YEARS! I'm a patient man, I suppose)

 

Looking forward to the iron factory releases. I have yet to be let down by them. Especially looking forward to their homage to Liokaiser. That's my favorite combiner design wise from the G1 universe. Now, if them or NA could do landcross....or, if, anybody could do landcross....

 

They updated the hands on the blue one (ionstorm?) That was a convention exclusive, and have continued to do so on the last 2 repaints. They gave them flight stands as well.
