I don't have any Beast Wars toys to check (I know, I know, not a "tRuE fAn" !!) but TFwiki have a page devoted to 5mm post compatibility -

5 mm post - Transformers Wiki

    Hope that helps! :)

Does citrus break down superglue or just residue?
    ...

GI Joe isn't even a Disney property but that was irrelevant to Kennedy.

I only have Optimus Primal, but the hands are 5mm. IIRC I had him holding the Kingdom one's swords at one point.

Is there a sensible place to buy Studio Series Rumble? Best I can find is £18 on Amazon which is...not my ideal price point!

Fings crosed for a speedy recovery for the UK thread's senior scientist!
Seeing Jhiaxus grabbing the barrel of another TF's weapon has me feeling like Paddington peering thru a cinema's fire escape door, a whole new world!!!
Can't believe I was only thinking a bout trying to nab a wee globe for him!

Star Action Figures once again living up to the first word in their nomenclature, their package arrived today despite yesterday's snow day (and kudos to the Posties to boot) and thusly...

    ...OFF-BOOKS BAROVIAN EXTRACTION SQUAD, ASSEMBLE!!!
    DSC_0154.jpeg DSC_0158.jpeg
Unlike Snakes, whose hips were firm but buttery smooth in all angles, both Snakes' right hand man, and his left hand lady (left side is heart side innit, hence your wedding ring on that hand) were a bit worryingly stiff straight out the box, so Traxxas to the rescue once again. Stalker & Scarlett both have some actual linear stop nubbins on their hip balljoint, so a little lubing up can'y really loosen him up too much.

Whilst Stalker was practically perfect in every way deco-wise there are a few of Scarlett's apps that are a tad shabby, mainly here and there on the mustard yellow apps (I've already now cleaned up some nasty overspill blobbing on her glove details), some edges of her red apps, and the left arm shoulder pauldron star white app is totally out-of-line with the moulded detail (no probs, the perfect excuse to paint red over it to remove the very obvious target on a Covert Special Operator), that's why she's missing her bandolier and backpack as I may shortly be painting the edges to neaten them up as well as getting rid of the scratch out of her chest apps, if I'm right about orange yellow with a bit of lightening with white being a good match, so there was no point putting it back on after Tikgnat™️ Kettle-methoding the bolts straight again after there packing compression.
Despite the flaws this is definitely the better deco than the rainbow of colours of the 1st version.

I did think her eye apps were a bit out too on close inspection but following a very thorough examination eventually realised the faceprint wasn't slightly out of alignment with her moulded eye details, it's just how ridiculously well contoured and detailed modern sculpting is - Scarlett here actually has quite "realistic" contours of a real persons lower eyelid (one cannot really call them "bags" but the correct-ish anatomical detail is indeed there), and her mascara/eye makeup actually sits pretty realistically on the outside edge of her eyelids, leaving the tiny strip of the inside edge between it and the whites of her eyes!?! It's actually scary how accomplished the whole thing is, and another reason I'm hppy to tweak the outfit apps myself instead of complaining about it.
Also I think that the freckles have been toned down on this repaint, they're not gone but they are much finer now, so while she does look a bit youthful she looks a little more mature than the first version.
I'm deffo gonna have to do some gear snagging too though, it's a shame she's missing a left leg knife sheath, and/or right leg pistol & suppressor with holster like the guys, that nothing stows on her waist belt, and that she's missing her grenade & right wrist automated-draw palm pistol. The former of which I might try to replicate/mod with one of the more realistic pistols from Firestar Toys.
Though if Hasbro could do some femme-buck focussed Accessory packs, yeah, that would be great!
At least with the Snake Eyes & Timber set her beau can give her some loaners for additional firepower for now!

Grid Iron Props is seeming more alluring now though, Scarlett & Snakes might just make splitting the ninja commando gear pack between them, and she's sorely lacking a less close range longer reach melee weapon of her later iterations.

Stalker meanwhile is a great advert for the Retro Snake Eyes figure as it's a decent solid body buck, with great articulation, and it's quite clear that the shemagh design is specifically contoured to the "braces" webbing, which makes me feel much better about the extra plastic I shaved off the "bib" section of Snake eyes' copy.
It's also pretty amazing how much the slight shift in alignment of the scarf between how each figure has to wear it and look "right" works to differentiate them despite being the exact same moulding!
Sidenote: Yes, Stalker's beret also fits on Snakes' head, and it's a chuckle to give it a go at least once!

Ok so i sorted the glue thing, I soaked the gun in some acetone for short periods and just kept wiping away. Was a bit worrying as last time i soaked something in acetone it began to eat the plastic.

Seems Hasbro plastic is the toy equivalent of a HobNob

My knowledge of Paddington is weak enough to not get that reference, but yes to the idea of getting him a globe.

My work many years back used to have stress balls in the shape of the globe, and after getting haslab unicron and when lockdowns allowed I scoured the old supplies cupboards for one for him to hold. Alas I was unsuccessful.

Cut to last month, after I sold the giant bugger. Found a box of them. But.. mouldy.

What a strange first week to return back to work?! :lolol

2 Snow Days off...I like the idea of a 3 day week already!

I do think perhaps me going back to work after 5 years has obviously tipped the universal balance of nature...so you can either thank or blame me for the snow fest! :lol

Well, the unexpected freebie days gave me some extra time to sort the east Machines and they are are all packed away now. Expect Cheetor, Rattrap and blast punch Prime..gotta keep some out to represent team BM :D !

I have now decided to dust all my bay verse figures and put them all in Vehicle mode as most have been stuck in bot' mode for 15years :lol  So much dust! There are some cracking figures I have re-discovered..Evac, Stratosphere, Incinerator to name a few.

I know bay-verse isn't for everyone.. but gotta say they did give us some truly unique and lovely transformations! :thumb

These guys...yes maybe complete dicks..but great toys.. still 2 of my secret favourites ;)

Whilst that Snake Eyes looks good he does have way too much brown, but i do want his grey straps and stuff as they would go perfect on the first release which had all black straps.

But as I have the first version, and the first Timber, this set would have to be at least half price to be worth it. Maybe I can find Snake Eyes on his own on ebay

It's the intro sequence to the famous sequence of the ol' 70s/80s stop motion version's near perfect recreation of the Gene Kelly "Singin' In The Rain" sequence, complete with the original soundtrack - bet that would have bankrupted the production company these days! Though maybe they could get away with Parody Fair Use?
And I should have written "a whole new way of life"...

Legacy Chaka Demus and Needlenose Pliers mini review...

Snazzy art but that jet mode already looks dubious...

    20230311_161557.jpg

However the man himself is a star. That colour scheme while the ruination of the alt works fantastically here. Complete badass. Had my doubts about all that gray but he's pleasingly old skool. Top headsculpt too, all helps distract from those shocking limb cavities

Gotta say I'm not enjoying the accessories in these two though, combined with the hollowness and something we'll come to in a moment I found myself wishing he was a voyager for the first time. They work best as blasters.

Now, you should know this guy is a partsformer. That tail fin is not attached. I suggest writing to your MP and having a stiff one. Maybe even a drink.

Anyway, you can't polish a turd no matter what way you stick guns in it. And mine has a dodgy wing hinge too.

Needle Dick is stellar as a bot yet crap just about everywhere else, and Zigandzag and Moonbeam don't help that feeling. However he totally belongs in a Con display.

Loved their ice cream truck figure. Such cool figures from a (in my opinion) underrated movie.

Still waiting for a Primal coloured TM1 Primal in other news.

They're all mates now but wait until Primal's onto his tenth banana daiquiri and getting thrown out of the strip club, while Lio's carrying the can for Big's waff fuelled rampage in the kebab house.

    Who ya gonna call?! DUSTBUSTER!

Origins Jazz is pretty great! Legs are a little chunky, and he has a backpack, but he's a better looking bot that Origins Bumblebee.
