I actually like the RoTB head design better, but I guess it's mostly due to nostalgia of the OG Beast Wars show.

 

Where is Wheeljack?

 

It they haven't by now they definitely won't, I just always found it one of the weaker movie designs so it's a shame they won't mix it up.

I don't know if you actually read my post you quoted but I never said it had to be G1, or even mentioned G1 at all. I just never cared for the design elements of his that carried over from the Bay movies and think they can do better. I WANT them to reinvent him and am someone who loves all eras of TFs. Chill...

They are seriously circling the drain, because of fantastic movie distribution choices and releases. Sarcastic.

 

The Maximals went through so many changes and people here still want to think they would keep Wheeljack’s face knowing there would be complaints and not redesign him at all.

The problem isn’t having him look different, it’s having him look that way for no reason after establishing his G1 centric look in the same continuity. If any thing Paramount is doing the exact opposite of what they did with Sonic.

 

This sure is a movie theater standee. I love that wheeljack has been conveniently neglected. I guess they realized his design is as bad as we know it is.

 

Yep that's likely why they are hiding him, and it feels fortunate because that means discussion boards wont be in uproars.

 

You know there is one simple solution that does not require any design change at all. Just rename him Perceptor.

I'm glad he's got the COE, G1-ish design, but I just can't get past the child-bearing hips they've decided to give Optimus Prime for BB and now ROTB.

 

I was more thinking in term of the personality the design gave to him rather than the design itself.

 

I mean Huffer is a rather cranky and bad tempered dude in the G1 cartoon, so it would fit the design.
I imagine "nerd stereotypes" do get angry often and have bad temper.

 

Name change is the best option but it’s not happening if other characters call him by his name in the movie. Not the same as Que being called Wheeljack in the DOTM toyline since they always intended to call him Que from the start.

 

Really like how the character models look in the standee. Hopefully Cheetor looks just as colourful in the final product as he does here.

 

That design doesn't really transpire "bad temper", it look more like he is the shy one.
