Yeah I think you're right. The final designs are a bit more nuanced. I tried to find the best images to compare their chest size differences.

And I think DOTM Bee's forearm kibble are extended outward while TLK Bee's are more compressed.

Yeah idk maybe I just hate the tlk car mode in general or maybe it's the proportion changes, but it just feels a little off. That being said, wow your model looks great.

    Just got mine today!

Edit: finished the build. Impressive how you can just pop off most of the parts with little flashing. My photography skills are D tier but I love this guy

Love this little guy! The build was easy and really fun, and the posability is very good. A bit delicate feeling but he is a model kit, and he's really small! I'll have to see what figures he can scale with, but for now I'm digging this.

I'm impressed by how much detail there is even with zero extra paint added. Aside from a bit of panel lining and maybe some weathering, I don't think I need to do much to him, TBH. I loved how easy it was to snap the pieces off the runners, and how clear the instructions were. And no crazy sideways L-shaped ball joint like with VW bee's kit! Remember when we all broke those ankles? lol

    Nicely done.

Same for Bayverse Bee TLK and High Octane are probably my favorite, followed by DOTM.
Nice, and wow yeah he looks really good despite being unpainted/unmodified. Hope this line keep going and going, probably going to get me at some point.

    Scales well with Revoltech Prime.
What?? I've assembled two VW Bee kits and never had any breakages. Skill issue, I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Thanks!

And I would also add '77 Camaro Bee to the tops list too. Just for how how unique his robot mode is compared to the 07 and 09 Concept Camaros.

"Skill issue"? Lol thanks. If you'd been in the thread for that one, many many people broke those stupid ankles, dude

For some reason, I never loved or cared about that design that much growing up, but in recently it has grown on me and more.

Design issue. You’re forcing an L-shaped ball peg into a socket with no guiding divers on an angle. Maybe people broke at least one because of it.

I dunno, I'm a total NOOB. These are the only model kits I've ever assembled, and these are apparently the EASY ONES.

But...I don't know how people managed to snap em. Maybe the tolerances were off in earlier batches? Resulting in tighter sockets and weaker ankles?

They're like Gunpla, but you don't need to use cutters or nailclippers and are simpler.

Yeah I'm too lazy to do it, personally, since it'd require a layer of white before the yellow, and there are six of them, with four fingers each. That's 48 paint applications! I might do the most commonly used hands or something but maybe not.

Suddenly I earlier had the motivation to paint the hands. But obviously I lack a steady hand! And the color matching isn't great. I'll work on getting them cleaned up later on, at least. FDF98C24-EFA3-474F-9859-D1343CE4BA9C.jpeg

If you have masking tape then use that to cover the parts you don't wanna paint.

Also, here’s a comparison pic I took yesterday, with the other Trumpeter kit I have. I’m so glad they’re doing some Bayverse too! The BBM ones didn’t appeal much to me with the scale being so off.

Masking tape? Who do you think I am, a competent customiser??
Nah but seriously I'm fine with my less than professional methods.

And I'm shocked you haven't added paint or lining to VW Bee. He looks WAY better with some!
