Bumblebee gets something like 10—12 new products every year. Consistently. But still never a basic updated G1 C.H.U.G. figure. Except once. Available for a week at WalMart. Then scalped to high heaven ever since.
The whole non-TFing thing is also why I don't think Kuro Kara Kuri's massively overpriced figures are worth it. That and I don't like the great majority of post-Furman IDW character designs
Robosen Products have zero interest for me, but I think its fun to see them demonstrated in videos. I hope they got Dan Gilvezan to record some voice commands. Also Robosen/HASBRO : PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.... when you do your marketing for this one do NOT ask Kevin James to hock your merch. You'll get a lot more sales that way
When people get a remote-control Transformer, they want to...well..transform it. That\'s part of the fun of the Optimus Prime.
I hope fans who invested in these from the get-go planning to collect the line don't end up getting burnt like those of us who bought the first 7 Masterpieces. It's likely they will decide to commit to one scale or the other in the not to distant future. To this day I have and will not buy an MP since -07 Megs because of the surprise scale change. Fool me once... If not for that issue I would be all about these. A Soundwave or Blaster who can transform AND act as an voice interactive, bluetooth enabled home DJ would probably win me over.
There was a Soundwave that also played MP3s from SD cards. Also made a decent Classics Soundwave until we finally got one years later...that was a Walmart exclusive retool Even more interesting the mostly white deco was the inspiration for his SG colors. He also got a Soundblaster deco
Robosen Optimus is one of the Crown Jewels of my collection. It’s a perfect thing. I even bought the trailer. A non-transforming Bumblebee doesn’t hold the same allure for me. If they couldn’t work out a transformation within the limitations of the license, they should have either changed up the design or chosen a different character.
No transform, no want. Especially at the insane prices they will ask. Betting it will cost the same as Prime, maybe more.
Silly Robosen. You go from one of the defining symbols of the 2020s to date (at least in my opinion) to Buzz Lightyear, who isn’t even canonically a robot, and this.
I usually support non-transforming figures, but the unique part of Robosen was that you can get characters that automatically transform. Without that, it loses a lot of its fun.
Same thought. I have v1 Prime and Trailer, but without the transformation functionality, I can't see the appeal. While Robosen is a robotics company, I can't imagine how much crossover their target market would have with Transformers fans/collectors
If it were a semi-reasonable price I could almost see the appeal. But it will probably cost $500+, and when pretty much all of the appeal of Robosen Optimus was that it was a self-transforming Transformer, it doesn't seem even remotely worth a price like that. Actual design looks decent, but what's the point of such an extravagant figure if a Transformer's defining feature isn't present here?
