I actually ordered my Cybertron Metroplex on the first day of the weekend sale. It shipped on Monday and arrived on my front porch at least an hour ago today via FedEx even though I chose the cheaper shipping option.

At one time they did. It wasnt too far back either. I know in the last year ...maybe two when I started seeing those offered they were detailed in what put them in "defective/damaged"

Anyone got a beat on when that mass of Evo wave 2 preorders will start to come out? Still haven't gotten any email about the deluxes nor core Grimlock, and seeing Tarn shipping from Amazon has me a bit antsy for those charges to hit the bank already.

I'm pretty sure this is a new shipment as it says the instructions may be multilingual. I do know Amazon has received a new shipment of him, and it's even stated as an Amazon exclusive. I just got him last week. Honestly, he holds together better than my original one did. I do wish I could swap his legs with the Earthrise version. Man...

The weirdest part to me is I use DHL for international shipments for work all the time. I can get a package from WA State to pretty much anywhere on the planet in 2-3 days for less than $25. But domestically? Fuck 2-3 days, enjoy your two weeks transit time, suckers!

    SMDH...

Did you select the $4 flat rate? Choose cheap shipping. Get cheap shipping.

Same. It's why I never select DHL unless it's an international shipment. Feels like two separate companies to be honest the way they handle things.

I look at it this way, always have... If I've spent a f!@#ton on figures, I might as well pay for reliable, and therefore safer, shipping and get them sooner rather than much, much later. It's enough of a time-based gravity well for them to even pack a POL, but to throw on their even slower processing PLUS strapping this to the back of a snail's shell and hope for the best? Nah, no thanks.

International DHL is amazing. When Amazon Japan used it in the past (I think they've since changed it), it was like 2 days, which was insane! 3, when it was passed off to the USPS at the last minute/mile. =\ (DHL's decision, not mine. First few came directly from them and it was awesome.)

If it's something I don't particularly care for, say a random one-off POP! I decided to add to my collection, sure...I'll use the $4.00 shipping, but honestly? After hearing about the missing and lost shipments via DHL domestic (even from BBTS), I don't think I'll use it even for that. It sucks to pay more for shipping and I understand that DHL cut them a good deal, but it's just not in the cards for me. I get the feeling that their flat rate shipping will either go the way of the dodo or they'll raise the price so they can use a better carrier.

...at least it's not Pitney Bowes!

Sure, and on their site, it flat out says that they use a bunch of different carriers for their $4 flat rate shipping and you don't get to choose who it is. So you're playing Russian Roulette essentially with how they decide to ship it. From what my friend who uses their $4 shipping regularly has told me the only thing you can really count on is if you have a huge POL (say, $200+ worth or so) that they will most certainly use FedEx or UPS home delivery instead of one of the cheaper options. Outside of that, it seems to be up in the air. You get what you pay for at the end of the day in most cases.

Agreed. I'd rather pay more and be guaranteed the reliable and safer shipping option that I selected rather than play the "which carrier is BBTS going to saddle me with because I only paid $4" game.

I don't know that the flat rate shipping will ever go away since a lot of people seem to use it still, but I could see it going up by a couple of dollars so that they can avoid using guys like DHL.

Don't think I've ever experienced Pitney Bowes personally.

I want to say before someone comes along and corrects me, that whether it's slow or fast, anything can happen in transit. That's completely true. It's just a lot less likely to happen or get repeatedly damaged in a shorter transit period. Plus, it'll receive higher priority in shipping containers with faster shipping. With DHL (which I've never experienced before at this level) and FedEx SmartPost and UPS Surepost, they wait for trailers to fill up, which can be instantaneous or take a week. It gets all smashed and thrown around as they move stuff to make more and more room for this pile of whatever. Plus, it'll take 7-10 days for it to get there to you, all while being thrown around like a pinata at a birthday party.

That's also Russian Roulette. "It's time for everyone's favorite game! ....Whhhhhuuuut Condition Will It Come In?!" and I'd rather know in less than a week. Especially if I have to spend time and money to get it fixed on top of what's already been used up.

If you've ever used EE for anything, they send their stuff Pitney Bowes. Even though it's USPS, they use the PB network for some ungodly reason. I guess it saves them a ton on shipping costs, but man. 10 days, 2 weeks, easy. An absolute miracle if you see it in a week.

Yep, that's also true. Anything can happen at any time but the longer it's in transit the higher a risk you run. Also, in my experience, some companies like DHL tend to be a lot more prone to damage during shipping or outright misplacing/losing shipments. So there's that too.

The only thing I ever used EE for was their exclusive Marvel Legends comic GotG set and that did indeed take two to three weeks to get to me now that I think about it.

The only times I use the $4 shipping is when A) I order something like a $25 doormat that would cost $50 to ship or B) I buy something deeply discounted to fill out my table at a show.
