I always thought Tracks was part of an Omnibot exchange program. He’s like a cross between Overdrive and Downshift.

    Speaking of…
I think with new heads they could make a passable Downshift from Tracks and an Overdrive from Knockout (with wing accessories…although he really ought to have his chest cannons). Camshaft…that’s a tough one…he needs that brittle rocket launcher on his back to evoke his source.

Honestly, I’d want proper Omnibots or nothing. Heavy retools would be fine, I guess. But, they would all need to have their gimmicks. That’s what makes them special.

Oh, you know how it is with Hasbro. They will give us slightly modified retools now, and we'll buy them. Then heavy retools later with the hidden weapon features, but in "cybertronian" alt modes, and we'll buy them. Then deluxe versions with weird battle damages...and finally clean deluxes that have alt modes close to what we want, but with a bunch of translucent accessories we didn't ask for and a $5 price hike, and they will be exclusives.

There seem to be several subgroups where most could get away with being repaints but one really needs its own mold - deluxe insecticons and Throttlebots for instance.

Hasbro doesn't have enough robot points yet.

I got my updated Battlechargers, voyager Seekers, and leader Dinobots. Updated Omnibots are next on my list. Right now those are the last big box I want to check on my collection. Unless they give us new Transmetals…

Omnibots and Throttlebots are really the last two "teams" Hasbro has yet to fully jump into, which is surprising.

I know I'd love to see new versions of these guys, but also keep their vehicle modes as close as they legally can to the G1 ones.

I don't know if the Omnibots are popular enough to sell. To get them back in the day, you had to mail away box tops or proof of purchase barcodes or some crap. Sure, they have a small, cult following, but the average person doesn't know who they are, and that alone keeps them from being produced. Someday perhaps... or they can recycle a mold that's somewhat close and make them. That's always been Hasbro's M.O.

Umm. Didn't they do them as target exclusives back in WFC?

But they did make new toy-colored versions of Reflector.

The red one needs to be a Target exclusive.

They'll happen eventually. It's just kind of a matter of finding a way to release them since they are such obscure guys.

No. Are you perhaps thinking of the Powerdashers, which were recolours-with-new-heads of some of the weaponisers? There have been no new Omnibots since the originals (well, okay, there were some rare things that shared the names of two of them, but they didn't even try to be like the original Omnibots).

Cromar and Zetar were both Selects figures. Aragon was part of an Amazon exclusive three-pack with Holo Mirage and Decepticon Impactor.

    Or maybe Omnicons?

Looks like there were targetvexclusive repaints in 2007…
