    Legacy Breakdown Lamborghini-style Vehicle Reshell

I wasn't satisfied with breakdown not being at least a bit Lamborghini-esque, the stunticons need their distinctive car modes, so I decided to fix it. I took an ultra high resolution 3D scan of breakdown without his canopy and front bonet and sculpted a Countach style new bumper and canopy around it. This is the result

    1.jpg

Overall I'm very happy with the result, the harsh lines and flatter canopy blend fairly well with the existing sculpt work on breakdown.

Obviously he can still transform, though the bonet no longer splits apart so its just a backpack. I'd say it has very little impact on how the bot mode looks in the end

And finally, combined mode still works, though requires a bit of fan mode-ing

    Combined-Mode.jpg

And with that, I'm now far happier with my breakdown and love this set even more

I'm really loving how this looks, but I'm curious about the ease of installation. I did read it requires a new pin to complete.

you can remove all the origional bits with just a screwdriver, it comes off as one piece after taking out 4 screws. the new parts might require one for assembly though.

Don't you need to remove the chest/neck/head flap to get to the upper two screws though?

This looks great and solves my main issue with Breakdown, but-
I'd really like to hear more about this process.

    Well alright, hope so anyway.

I bought the files off Cults3D, but I'll have to have the actual parts printed through Shapeways. As much as I'd prefer to be able to print the more piecemeal set for the sake of not dealing with paint, it'd cost an arm and a leg to do so, I'll just have to print the conjoined parts and paint as carefully as possible.

Too bad I don't have a 3-D printer, I'd love to do this to mine when BBTS ever processes my order so I can ship it.

Immediately doing this once I get a Breakdown. Hasbro couldn’t bother to atleast try.

That is incredible. I will have to pick up the kit and install it myself at some point in the future, because god damn.

Just for a small pic request, any way we could see the kit next to Kingdom Sideswipe and ER Sunstreaker in vehicle mode?

I'm sure somebody is going to be on it at some point. My money is on Go Better considering they made whole new arms for Wildrider.

I haven't tried it yet for figure parts, but PCBWay has an amazing 3D printing service with tons of options for your prints.
