Why were the packaging image and the front page story removed?

 

Apparently Hasbro Korea kindly asked news sites and twitter fan update pages to delete their post.

 

...why? The figure has been officially revealed and is available for preorder. What's so secret about the packaging?

There is no packaging. There is no Scourge. There is no Rise of the Beasts. There is no Transformers. Please move on with your lives. There is no life. Whoops.

 

It's frankly hilarious that the image of a stolen unrevealed toy in shambles is all fine and dandy for the world to see but its box art being posted way after the official reveal is an issue. Not saying there probably isn't a reason but shit's funny man.

 

I love how out of all the leaks for them to take action on… it’s a box. And it’s for a figure already officially revealed a while ago.

 

It could be because Scourge might be voiced by a popular K-pop star in the Korean dub, so maybe that's why he's under wraps.

 

Yeah, its honestly pretty funny and I struggle to find the point in removing images of the boxes and meanwhile Hasbro are perfectly okay with images of the toy itself being leaked out a month early. If I had to guess its due to NDAs and such. When someone posts images of a stolen toy they're not technically breaking an NDA, but when someone from Hasbro fucks up like this that would be a pretty big screw up. That's just my guess, its still weird though. With how little they do against toy leaks I just assumed Hasbro company policy was to not care about leaks to avoid a Streisand Effect.

It's also been confirmed by some that we weren't even supposed to to see this exact picture.

 

So I was told by the Hasbro Korea intern (in my Messenger DMs) that the reason why the image is not allowed to be shared is because of "embargoes".
I wonder if anyone could help me to understand a bit more of this?

 

They have a certain period of time where they're not allowed to release the boxart, they accidentally released it already which is against their embargo and presumably could get them in hotshit with their boss.

 

I thought the art looked so bad it must've been a fan creation, so it's wild seeing all the images taken down, confirming it was legit after all.

 

I almost didnt take it down cause I thought it was a troll request but then I saw the news post get taken down

honestly i have no clue on why this is happening, maybe if scourge hadn't been officially revealed a month ago and was still unrevealed, then maybe it would make sense, but this hasn't happened for any other product that has leaked like this. maybe it's because paramount has all branches of Hasbro by the balls when it comes to ROTB reveals and god forbid they ever break an embargo even slightly, but that's just my little theory

 

unlikely, iirc the seller has sold a legacy knockout for $500 before, some folks are just that desperate for early toys
