That reminds me. The last Geo character we've gotten... was last fucking year, with Yun Jin.

I am begging Hoyo to give us new Geo characters and a Dendro reaction

Hoping that Inazuma "not-catgirl" who's supposed to be Geo is in the next drip marketing or released prior Fontaine. It's the only element that I never really invested in aside from Ningguang and Yunjin lol.

Purely going for in-game-canon "they fight alongside each other on a regular basis".

Ah, yeah...wish we had more of that.

Also, hello to everyone here - longtime member/lurker, but only posted a handful of times over the past 10+ years. Realized I randomly dropped in and started engaging in mid-conversation...sorry about that. I used to be more active on the Genshin character subs, but Reddit in general is just toxic/exhausting, so trying to back away from that.

Raiden and Shenhe are my jam, and would love to discuss the game with fellow TF fans!

Dehya joining standard banner and Cyno rerun really is something out of left field. Since Hoyo's adding a 2nd pyro claymore, this likely means they'll add a lot more to the standard banner as we get through each future nation. The only reason Inazuma got left out is because it's quest locked and if there's any future nation that's like that, their characters will be left out of the standard banner as well.

I have mixed feeling about Dehya being on standard banner. It sucks because it means I can no longer pull for her after the next banner. OTOH, it means one less character that I need to think about pulling because it's totally out of my hands. I will pull Dehya just to make sure I have her because who knows when I'll pull another one, if ever.

It's weird that they would do another Ayaka rather than Eula. Doing it for the costume or event really doesn't add up since the event and discount ends with this patch.

Characters that mesh together lore-wise and gameplay-wise? First thing I think of would be OG National minus Bennett. Bennett can be replaced by either Xinyan or Yunjin since both are friends with Xianling. Obviously, it's not going to be nearly as powerful without Bennett but at least it's something. The Kansen Quartet (Ayaka Kazuha Venti Xinqiu) also should have potential. Frankly, you can throw a lot of characters together and make it work; it just won't be OP.

As Yoimiya would say, "Welcome, welcome. Welcome to the fireworks show." :lol

I have a strong urge to pull on the next Weapon Banner, for sure. Not quite as busted as the current Homa/Aqua banner, but quite close, IMO. Both Dehya and Cyno's weapons amp them up considerably, while also being very solid generalist weapons. If not in Cyno's hands, pretty sure his is top-tier for Xiangling as well. And Dehya's claymore is a massive stat-stick that works on just about everyone, so long as you're not too attached to using shields.

Both weapons are solid Crit Rate/Dmg stat sticks. Pulling for Dehya's claymore along with her, but won't be mad if I get Cyno's polearm either. Also considering if I should try for Mistsplitter to give to Keqing (don't have Ayaka), but sorta want to wait to see what Fontaine might give us.

After getting some co-op help from other players, I finally manages to unlock both the "Peak of Vindagnyr" Domain and the Cryo Hypostasis boss at Dragonspine, as well as climbed all the way up to the very top of the floating pillar of said mountain.

So, might as well take a quick photo of one of my mains (Which I also just recently got up to Ascension Phase 6) posing off at the top of said pillar:

Hello there! There's quite a small but nice collection of chibi Gachapon Genshin figurines that you got right there.

As for my jam, well I kinda have a strong bias towards my Dendro Traveler / Lumine, so much so that I even got her Nendo:

    (Glowing green light not included)

I know she's not gonna be that "clear Spiral Abyss levels within a minute" level of META OP (Especially since more powerful Dendro characters such as Alhaitham, Nahida, and Tighnari all now exist), and she mostly serves as either Sub-DPS or Support which wasn't exactly the flashiest role. But damn it I love her. Her EN, CN, and JP voices are just great (For what little we got, at least). Her aesthetic design with the flower ornament on her hair and her white dress decorated with gold and blue trim is very nice, and she as the Traveler has just a certain charm that's right up my alley.

I built her in a way that goes above and beyond every other character. I have her built all the way up to currently Lv. 82. I went all the way out to collect as much Dendroculus throughout Sumeru as I can to level up the Statue of The Sevens at the region, as well as completing the Sumeru Archon Quests just to get her constellations. I may have made a lot of very stupid decisions when I first started the game, but choosing her as my Traveler was (and still is) never one of them.

Ah, yes, my favorite Genshin character; Movie Starscream.

    J/K
Welcome to the thread! It's pretty laid back in here so it's not going to be as active as in comparison to reddit, but given the small number of participants in this thread it's still active enough to warrant popping in once a day in my opinion.

The trip to the very top of Dragonspine is one of my fave things in all of Genshin---there's no super-clear path in parts, and it's not easy----it's the best "feels like a real accomplishment" in the game IMHO.

@YellowCorvette I'm happy to help a fellow TFW-er, if you need some assistance via co-op, vs relying on random players. :)

I really wish the game would let people trade/donate stuff to other players.

    Thanks for the welcome, all!

@YellowCorvette, that's a nice Lumine nendo you got there. Waiting for them to unveil their Raiden...any day now. Gacha characters are indeed "meta"/more flashy, but the Traveler can be quite versatile (esp now w/Dendro) if you take the time to invest in them. Always nice to see some love for the MCs.
Collab when? Starcream would be best Genshin waifu...insta-C6 ;)
Laid-back is definitely more welcomed; I can only look at so many artifact humblebrags or Dehya/"Insert character X here" doomposting.

If anyone ever wants to material-snatch, domain/boss-run, or just mess around, feel free to add me: 609454233 (NA server).

Wish there was more robust co-op content...those "Symphony" boss events with difficulty modifiers were quite fun.

I am lacking the majority of the "beat X boss in co-op" achievements, so if anyone wants to basically do boss-rush mode some day...

This beetle event is possibly the single worst event they've ever done. Hey, are you bad at judging distances because there's no fucking aide to figure out how far you're going to go? Tough luck, because they require 'piercing strike' which is the shitty way of saying 'if you don't nail this, FUCK YOU." Miss your opening? Sorry, you're out of stamina and can't dodge the next attack!

Seriously, Hoyo, what the fuck. This is the first time I'm skipping the hardest difficulties because you've literally nerfed the player only by the second round. The bullshit that has to be employed to constantly stunlock people due to poor power creep management is bad enough but this...this is sadistic if you can't memorize arbitrary tips that aren't on screen at all times.

EDIT: Oh, you don't even HAVE to do the hardest difficulty apparently. That's ten minutes of wasted effort I'd like back.

EDIT 2: Okay, apparently I was fighting the day THREE guy instead of day Two, but day three is still inexplicably obscenely difficult because it requires far too much precision. Everybody else is pretty much piss easy except the last boss on the final difficulty, which is an even bigger version of bullshit because you LITERALLY do not have enough stamina.

    Practice makes perfect?

I honestly really liked the gameplay, and would really love to see it expanded upon in some form. It really neatly occupies an "easy to learn, hard to master" niche that's perfect for a quick breather activity.

If you're burning through stamina, it means you're being way too aggressive. Let them come to you, and save your stamina for dodging.

The day three guy really is the wake-up call though, since you can blow through one and two so easily. Day four and five are a bit easier, since they don't tank up quite so hard. But they've got the full gamut of mechanics to keep you on your toes.

So, rumour mill is spinning up again that one of the next new 5*s will also be intended for the Standard pool. Makes me wonder if we'll be seeing a system update within the next couple of patches.

For those keeping tabs on Honkai Star Rail's development, the pity system there seems to be a carbon copy of Genshin's, at least with how things are in the early access. With the exception of one new feature, with a one-time free 5* voucher received after 300 Standard pulls. It seems to make sense to back-port that feature into Genshin as well, but not without bolstering the pool first.

Gonna be sad if being put on the standard banner means being like the Dehya Disaster.

At this rate my next roll is gonna be for the Hydro Archon.

I actually found the beetle fighting pretty easy but yeah, if you're bad at judging the amount of charging needed on the fly, I can see how this can be a nightmare. I actually found Day 4 to be by far the easiest; I was able to go super aggressive because by he was super predictable and shrimpy on top of that. The only time I died was Day 5 because I was trying to reflect the electro ball like with Day 3 and it wasn't working but once I switched tactic to knocking the ball first, it was over. While I enjoyed the gameplay, I found that once you've grasped the timing as well as each boss's tricks, it became super easy on the 2nd go so that's it for me. Totally agree with mx-01's tips; if you have trouble, play defensively and react only when needed. You should use the small lightning strikes as a chance to close the distance and don't be afraid to overdo the retreat. I don't recall if Day 3 was the same way but Day 5's electro ball has a limited distance so just stay out of range and close the gap as needed the moment it's gone.
edit: One trick I found is that each has a prefered charging distance. If you're able to to time it right, you only need to do a quick charge right after the opponent lunges to do max dmg to them.

That's pretty much what I expected although if they do one more from Sumeru, that should be the last one from that region. If they release another 5* from Liyue, they might shoehorn that one into Standard as well (Ping, possibly?).

Current rumour mill is pushing an Inazuma Geo girl, a nekomata associated with the Asase Shrine. Unless there's another soon-to-release Geo character on top of that, she'll probably be the candidate for Standard Banner expansion, if all this does indeed come to pass.
