Just use any silver or metallic silver which is semi gloss/satin finish that says it is suitable for plastics.

i understand that part. but not all silvers are equal. some are too bright, others are kind of dull and some look more like aluminum.

i was asking about the paint you use because it was a really great match for the bot.

I have Motortech Silver. I also found that tamiya metallic silver TS-83 is a good match.

While i had the legs in pieces, i thought i would see if i could strengthen the outward thigh ratchets. I added 2 pieces of .040" styrene under the spring, which still gives the ratchet tooth enough compression to rotate, but holds tighter. Now the legs can hold a full splits pose.

Anyone know of a good way to tighten up his "wings" on his back? Mine have been floppy since I got him and IDK where to start.

A little battle damage on Dinobots isn't the end of the world to me.

But I love these guys. Extra Dinobots are great to display one in bot mode and one in dino mode.
    That's my strategy.

Your collection looks good!!! :rock :rock

I like how he looks with the tail removed.
Best way to display in bot mode IMO.

I arrived late to the Gigasaur party and have Chrome versions of Gaudenter (Blue), Superator, and Graviter in-hand. Realistically, will we actually see Gigapower reissue Chrome Grassor and Chrome Guttur? The idea of paying $500 in the aftermarket is a bitter pill.

My guess is early prototypes/product pictures (like that) had the Silver knees but once it went to production they scrapped it for black knees. Sorta like what happen with the Chrome thighs on Grassor.

As far as I recall neither Silver knees or Chrome thighs ever made it on any releases & later reissues.

The first run of metallic came that way, along with all the extra parts. Look up the page at @Somechump post of his ratchet fix, he has the silver knees/thighs.

Wrong. I have the 1st run and it didn't have painted knees. Also Somechump painted his knees.

I heard how beautiful these were, but finally holding it in hand I'm blown away.

Has anyone here tried painting the alternative red face silver?

I've been living under a rock for years and wasn't aware of the GigaPower Dinobots. (I mostly just collect beast wars, but love anything dino). I was able to snag Grimlock(HQ-01R) and Swoop(HQ-05R) on ebay this morning for very fair prices, and thinking of getting sludge(HQ-04R) on BBTS. Currently trying to find Slag(HQ-02R) and Snarl(HQ-03R), but they are PRICEY. Is it safe to assume well get a reissue of the chrome versions of those 2?

What I'd really love is have them all in the weathered versions, but not sure if the other 3 will ever come out.

Not sure of any reissues. They're pretty old and have already been reissued a couple of times. Gigapower doesn't even make any transformers related products anymore and they don't offer aftersales services anymore.
