to expect my package shipped within a couple of days of winning/paying for an auction? I bought an animated battle 2-pack on May 7th, emailed the guy today after the mail ran to ask if it has been mailed (coming from Ohio) and he responds saying it just mailed this morning because he didn't have a box or tape to ship it with. WTF? Anyway, I replied that I paid for priority mail shipping and it was not sent in a timely manner, where is my DC, etc. Waiting to hear. EDIT: after double checking, it was one where shipping was free - 1st class. Maybe I should not complain then.
I think you have a right to be angry there. Unless the seller explicitly states that he/she may not get around to shipping it for a week, I'd expect my item in the mail within 3 business days. I know when I sell things I always try to to get the postage and delivery confirmation done the night I receive payment, and in the mail the next day.
I ship anything I sell within 48hours of payment, I think its only fair that people are as quick as possible, your giving them money for a servie after all
I try to ship within a week when I sell, BUT my auctions state that I usually only ship once a week. I occasionally will ship more frequently than that but I work M-F 8-5....which sucks when it comes to mailing something
This is true. However, if you advertised as priority mail, it should be shipped promptly. He didn't, and since shipping was free, I am going to cut him a break if it gets here next week. Let it slide this time...
paypal terms of service say they will have to have proof of item being shipped within a week of the payment being sent if a claim is filled.....so there ya go...you have a span of 7 days that he can wait to ship it....
priority mail just means it will go that method....it does not literally = fast shipment time from end of auction...there is a section that the seller can specifiy that he ships X amount of days after auction ends and payment has been recieved....the shipping method is just how it goes.....not how fast he gets down the the shipping place after you pay him....and i agree that it should he a resonable short amount of time unless it specified in the auction the seller ships once or twice a week....
This. By the original logic presented, it's ok to wait 3 weeks to ship it if the shipping method is parcel post, but priority MUST get out the next day, or there's a problem. I don't mind delays, as long as the seller bothers to inform me of them. Waiting in the dark is never fun.
jesus....shipping time has ZERO to do with shipping method//// the seller is completely in control of shipping time-time it takes for him to take it to USPS, UPS, whatever..... SHIPPING METHOD...that is out if his or her control...this is what decides the transit time...time from seller to you when it is in route...parcel post sucks for quickness..personally i have waited 30 calender days from something to go from KY to AZ.... ebay states in the auction area at the bottom that the seller is not responsible for carrier shipping times and delays..... plus like i said if you want to dig into the depths of paypal Terms of service and read for dozens of pages ...it does say that you have a week from the time you get paid to ship the item...that delivery tracking MUST show that it was shipped within a week of payment....does NOT say anything about the amount of time it takes to get to the person and get delivered thought...JUST THAT IT HAS TO BE SHIPPED IN A WEEK OF PAYMENT....
I think SB was agreeing with you, unless I missed the sarcasm. In any rate, paying for priority mail does in fact mean, IMO, that it should be mailed within one or two days of paying for the auction. If not, then why pay extra? That is my point. It is, however, irrelevant because it was free 1st class shipping, so as long as it comes in by wed. or thur. I will be ok.
Yes, I was agreeing with him. I'm still too out of it to stick in subtle sarcasm. I guess that's all a matter of personal opinion. Priority isn't that much extra, and the better handling and such (free return service if the address is incorrect) makes it worth the extra few cents. If you look at what services they offer for the price, parcel post is a complete rip off. First Class is my method of choice whenever possible because it's cheaper and is priority for lighter parcels, but that is once again a matter of personal opinion.
when you pay more it is just for quicker transit time...i wish ebay sellers would ship quicker...seems lately everytime i have won something the seller takes almost 4 days before they even think about shipping it....
Whenever I sell something I try to have it out within 24hrs unless it's the weekend. Very rarely is it longer than that!
When I ship out, its usually the day after payment has been received, and sometimes on the day of...if I get it early enough before I leave for work. If I get paid over the weekend, I ship on Monday. I too hate it when sellers drag butt getting to the p.o.
