It's been unseasonably hot here in the Bay area the last few days -- a bona fide heat wave with temperatures pushing 105 degrees in some places (30 degrees higher than they ought to be) and records being broken left and right. And for those of us who don't have Air Conditioning in our apartments, it's a sweltering hell. It's the sort of hot where you can turn that faucet to cold all you want and you're never gonna get anything better than lukewarm. So, something I noticed last night while broiling in my own juices: it was so warm in my apartment that on every one of my G1 and Reissue figures, the rub symbols were clearly visible all by themselves. OMG...how ever will they hide their allegiance, baking in my ridiculously hot domicile?! IGNORING for a moment the fact that the little rub symbols are pretty redundant when you have ten-foot-wide Decepticon symbols plastered on your wings.
Heh. My collection is in the basement and it is usually cooler that the rest of the house. So cold in fact that my 25th Gi Joe Zartan is always bluey-green.
