Even with shipping it cost more than I expected. According to HLJ total the cost including FedEx shipping is ¥19,160. (Figure itself is ¥15,800 which isn't bad for a new MP of this nature nowadays, so yeah the delivery charge is a bit much, but I saw it up front, so fair enough.)

According to currency converter that's £120.60. On my card bill its £144.21! Even with the card's currency conversion charge it shouldn't be near that! I think HLJ must be using a different conversion rate. I should have gone with ShowZ and just waited (they're not in stock there yet). Base price is more but with the points I have accumulated and the much lower delivery charge it would have worked out much cheaper. Oh well.

I have a preorder for MPG Yukikaze with them too. Thinking of looking elsewhere if he isnt sold out...

Update on my update: Amazon Japan came through again! I'm getting a new one shipped to me soon. Their customer service is very good.

If my new one also has tight elbows I'm going to do the same fix if the screws aren't too tight to take it apart. Just cutting one coil off the spring made a huge difference on my first copy. I think what TT are trying to do is make the upper elbow joint stiffer so the bottom joint moves first. Makes sense. But they went too far and the upper joints on some copies are so stiff you can barely move them. And in my case one actually broke.

Did you use PayPal? PayPal charges ridiculous currency conversion fees. You have the option to pay in the store currency and let your credit card do the currency conversion. But it's not the default and requires a few more mouse clicks. I forgot to do that recently with a PayPal purchase and I paid for that mistake. Literally.

Yes, I believe it did. My 48 seems fine now, but I can't remember if I actually fixed it or if it got better with time somehow. I remember having a really hard time with the elbows.

Mine arrived around an hour ago. Yet to open an I'm working. Just providing a heads up for any UK folk awaiting orders. FedEx pulled through this time, time wise.

Got mine in this morning, quite happy the black looks really good in hand. Almost every tolerance issue my original had was addressed here, and he physically feels far different. Such a great deco. My copy's left arm has a misfired pin so it's loose as hell. The card art is so bad lol

Added the weapons to the beastmode earlier. I think the weapons will look better in the robot mode but it was fun. Good that there is storage although it would be nicer if they were better hidden but that's a bit of a nitpick. (Referring to the plug in beam launchers and missiles. The tubes themselves are well hidden, of course.)

Yet to transform, but a nice,Beast mode. I wasn't over keen on the lion's face but I get that this is how he looks in the comic and animation*. It is growing on me. Reminds me of the little Chinese demon ornaments I saw at the local antique store as a kid. Needs round ears not pointed (or just not include them. They could be hidden by the mane) and a larger proportioned head, but that's more a criticism of the character design than this figure, I think.

The weapons folder accesory- I get that you can plug four of the weapons into it, but it looks like it's supposed to attach to the figure somehow. I can't see where, though unless that is clearer in robot mode. Nothing in the instructions aside from the fact you can plug weapons into it,

*Actually I think Leo Amber is just in the comics, but including regular Leo Prime

I might be wrong, but the missile holder I believe is a reference to another Takara toy, some kind of toy missile shooter nerf blaster type thing, I believe it was discussed in the Lio Convoy MP thread.
Its use is purely to store the missiles but he can hold it in robot mode as a weapon. No cybertron buster with this release so this is the best you'll get as a handheld weapon.

Thanks. Yes after the above I watched Emgos review of the original Lio Prime and he demonstrated it. With that long post at the bottom is an odd design. I would have thought that would plug into something. I guess it could be an underslung barrel, type thing, hence the ridges?

It's an odd thing but options are good...

I saw a mech beast mode head in another picture that looked a bit odd, but it looks good in yours above! Not sure if it's an angle thing, or they had something different going on. I will try that out later.

I think the head of the lion in general is too high in both modes and proportionally too small. Probably so the lion head shoulder plate isn't too big in robot mode, since there is a lot going on with the mane. Cheetor and Tigertron's heads are better proportioned but they form the robot's chest.

With the mech head the proportions and position don't look so odd for some reason, despite being similar in size.

I received my replacement copy from Amazon Japan and it had the same elbow issue as the first copy I had. But it did have the ratchet part that was missing in the leg of my first copy. So overall much better.

The upper elbow joints on both my copies are unbelievably tight and I cannot move that joint without breaking it. I actually cracked the plastic on my first copy. Since both my copies had this issue I'm assuming this is fairly widespread. Or I'm just very unlucky..... If you have the issue, I would avoid moving that joint because it will break something eventually. If you don't do the fix, he still has elbows using the lower joint, you just won't have as much range of movement. So not a big deal if you don't fix it. But I'm a fussy dude so I had to fix it!

    To fix the elbow issue:

    - remove the two screws from his bicep
    - Take the arm cover off
    - remove the lower arm assembly
    - remove the little ratchet piece from the upper joint
    - remove the spring from the elbow shaft
    - cut one coil off the spring which will make it less "springy" and loosen the joint. I've done this fix on two figures and one coil worked both times (three arms total). You can use wire cutters for this. You might want to wear safety goggles or glasses in case the coil ends up shooting at your eye :)
    - put everything back together, being careful not to overtighten the two screws. You don't want to strip them!

    Cheers!
