And there's more. Wow. That's really cool. I might want all three uses of the mold:confused:

Yes, wanting your collection to be in scale is such a weird obsession. The value in a figure as being able to successfully fit in alongside a collection is just unimportant and worthy of ridicule

You want every combiner to be the same height and you think that’s “in scale.”

My idea of “in scale” is if the original toy was short, a new toy should be short too.

I know some people are like “well Monstructor didn’t look short in the IDW comic!” and stuff like that for Scorponok being a Titan, and whatever’s in your bonnet about Dinoking, but I value the original source more than some random artist’s reinterpretation that was probably just based on photos.

I think it’s neat when things are different sizes. It adds variety. They’re robots. There’s no practical reason they can’t be like that.

The original toys didn't try at all for any scale, they just made toys. They weren't trying for a unified collection or anything, they just made figures for the sizes they had available. Which is fine for back then, but the line started by pulling toys across different lines and putting them together, scale was never a consideration. That's not the standard now, the original toys shouldn't be a frame of reference for how large these characters should be if there's a fictional point of reference for them. And let's not pretend the Monster Pretenders being as big as everyone else was some "random artist's interpretation" when they were in the original G1 Marvel comics and was shown to be a normal set of characters. That's not a random interpretation or something that came up decades later because someone "decided it was so". Even their tech spec described the combiner as a "towering menace" and a "super robot", which was some of the other combiner's function. Doubtful a Micromaster (something that wasn't anywhere near their packaging or anything they've ever been associated with) would be described as either.

I just cannot bring myself to care about any other factor besides small toy.

Old toy small. Want new small toy. Good. Thank you. Happy now.

Dinoking will be perfect as a minivoyager, towered over by there leader.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting a dinoking that stacks up with victory saber. You have your preferences and others have there’s. You don’t need to down play someone’s preference. I like transformers victory, in the show dinoking is big as any other combiner in any other show etc. I’d like my figures to represent that. Also Hasbro has generally made figures in their “correct” scale etc. This is not new, watched show, wants toys that look like show, happy. Of course short robots can be and are cool, that’s not the point.

My dude, there was one specific guy who got cranked up because he didn’t like a ratio of dollars to height inches, and that is the only thing I was talking about in the thing you quoted me on. You want to tell me what the point is or isn’t, but I only had that one point, and I do not care that much one way or another about all these other angles the Giant Dinoking Club wants me to be the strawman for. I’m sorry I didn’t take their very important cause more seriously.

I like the little toy, but I’m sure I’d have liked a big version too. Is that okay? Are we good? Yeeeeeeeesh

Your response said “people’s” Isn’t that plural. Doesn’t saying about one person. Your post came across as a general statement. You don’t need to be condescending. You made a general statement and people responded. Why even comment if you have a problem with the responses. Not sure why discussions about toys have to escalate lol

    Holy foreshadowing, Batman!

@HalleyHanna on Twitter found a port on Core Grimlock that isn't used in robot or dino modes!

    upload_2023-4-7_7-18-56.png

Either Volcanicus was planned to have feet or they're saving the feet for Dinoking as an extra incentive. At the very least, third-party guys can work on their own Core Volcanicus feet!

Might be new feet, but there is an alternate configuration @mellowshade figured out to give this thing proper feet.

Sorry, I’m late to the discussion, but isn’t there a larger combining set of Dinobots out there already? One which could “stack up” to Victory Saber?

Skimming through, It sounds like some folks are complaining that this apple isn’t the orange they are seeking.

We had a missed opportunity with an official set in the form of POTP retool, and FP's Saurus is comically expensive for those who want something that fits with CHUG.

FP Saurus was $150 yesterday. The Pulse Volcanicus was $180 and the retail version was $110. Plus you know, a missing member and the completely wrong combination format.

I think they're talking about a retool of potp volcanicus into dinoking instead of volcanicus itself.

Yes, which is where the part about a missing member and the wrong formation comes in. The rest is in response to the claim that the 3P version is comically expensively compared to a possible PotP version, which is clearly not true based on their data.

Last time I checked was 5 months ago lol
I'll find the post, but it's possible to reverse, adjust a few things, and plop the gun on as a foot. Obviously it reduces the angle of the knee a bit, but it's a bit better than the hoof thing he has by default, unless they find a way to pack feet in with Snarl.
Alt parts were accidentally shown a while back. Obviously missing member, but that at the time would've been the closest in-scale option.
I had not recently checked for secondhand sets as I only get stuff via eBay and Amazon, so it's actually a welcome surprise to see it that cheap, thank you!

EDIT: Last I checked out of curiosity, the set was 400+ so yeah, I'm a bit behind!

I put this together as it gives Grimlock's accessory something to do. But I also hope Hannah's suggestion that it's extra parts compatiable is true and we get a box set with some new ankle tilting feet part included. 20230410_235849.jpg 20230410_235847.jpg
