Here’s some more: Weapon storage, tail detail in both modes, and opening mouth. I’m glad the tail isn’t hollow. Sword is flexible PVC. So are the panels that hold the front gold plates. Hind legs transformation is great!
Only half the gold pieces being painted and the other parts being left macaroni colored on Snarl make it stand out oddly compared to the last 3 Dinobots.
It’s crazy how much more dynamic he looks just standing there than the lot. Right now it probably goes for me Snarl > Slag > Sludge > Grimlock for me. Bit weird that the head and feet seem to be a different gold than the rest of the lot. Oh well, I got Sludge on a whim and the only other one I’ll probably get is Swoop (at least for the foreseeable future. Maybe in ten years I’ll pick up the other three lol) so it doesn’t bother me all too much. Sucks that they left the best for last though.
Damn. This looks really good. Probably the most accurate so far to the toon model, even if the actual cheese colored pieces look a little odd. Those back legs are massive but hey.
They won't. Swoop is, apparently, shorter than the other Dinobots. So less height translates to the potential for more size elsewhere. Namely the wings.
These all are a dream come true, and looks like they jumped right out of the G1 cartoon. Can\'t wait to add Snarl to my collection!
Ooo he's looking pretty great so far, robot mode is pretty much perfect! Dino mode is so close, but man do I wish they had painted the legs and head the same golden color as the tail and spikes instead of leaving them at this weird yellow-orange tone. I'm hoping its either not the finalized coloration or that it'll be less apparent in person. Now bring on Swoop
My initial reaction is I really like it. The two things I wish they did a little better. 1. Robot mode shoulders look really strange. 2. Dino tail should be 1 inch longer. I will need to find space for this on my shelf.
I'm not saying they should not have made G1 Dinobots, I'm saying that if they had a home in WFC/Legacy versus Studio Series 86, there would be a bit more room to modernize some design elements while still delivering a faithful representation of the G1 Dinobots, just as they did with the vast majority of G1 cartoon characters who found their home in WFC Trilogy instead of SS86. Did people express a specific preference for them to be 100% cartoon accurate per SS86 versus the '90% accurate with a few updated details' styling they might have had in WFC/Legacy? I know this is not what you said, but I also don't really want to go down the rabbit hole of everyone needing SS86 and non-86 versions... which is what they have been slowly starting to do with Ironhide, Ultra Magnus, etc...
Damn, missed the video! VERY happy with this guy - only part that needs fillers is the underside of his front feet, from what I can see. Makes a change.
