Thanks for the heads up! Voted for Battle Bomber and also Escaflowne (since the survey asked what non-Brave character you'd want to see produced). I've wanted a high-quality, screen-accurate transforming Escaflowne figure for DECADES.
Chalk another one up for Battle Bomber. Also had to add Guard Diver and Land Bison to the list. Swinging for the fences here but hell, never thought I'd ever see an updated Might Gaine so why the hell not.
Same for Escaflowne, Bandai showed off an amazing looking prototype once as part of a collaboration project with Studio Halfeye to bring their incredible designs to the mass market but the deal must have gone sour very quickly as it and the whole colab were never heard from again. It still haunts me. They'll have to move on to the supporting characters eventually!
Yep, that prototype was the stuff that dreams are made of. It's a travesty that such an amazing design was never allowed to see the light of day. If Goodsmile or anyone else makes an Escaflowne one day, I'd want it to look... pretty much exactly like this, haha.
The entire Brave Express line showed up in SRW so it wouldn't be the most outlandish request. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if Battle Bomber was posted on an engineering board somewhere that reads "NO CHANCE IN HELL". The stylized nature of the Braves is challenging enough to update without throwing triple changing combiners into the mix.
I just want trains that turn into robots and also into mythological creatures and also combine into a gestalt and look perfect in all four modes IS THAT SO MUCH TO ASK.
Well I don't have the DXes but they managed it then, I'd expect any new Bombers would start from there and work to improve the original toy designs as much as possible rather then even attempt the anime designs.
Yeah they do but considering the age and how much those toys have to do I could always excuse that. I assume actually putting the arms inside the train mode would be the least a new version set out to achieve.
