There was a video somewhere a long time ago in this thread that had a recommended fix. But I don’t know what page, and I don’t remember the details.

The fix, which has been mentioned recently, was to dremel/sand the washer that is attached to the shoulder screw because it sometimes binds against the plastic and comes unscrewed when you rotate it a certain way. This might be the video you are talking about but I could swear he had another one but I went through 80 pages and couldn't find it. He describes what he does, though. So people can follow that or follow Pezley's suggestions which essentially include this fix.

Dare I say it, transformer_78's add-on parts are a must-have for XTB Ultra Magnus. I bought the longer neck and replacement missile armatures on the shoulders. It's amazing how efficiently these parts improve the playability.

The default neck is just too short. Period. With the longer neck, Ultra Magnus can now tilt his head, look up, and look down. True, you don't get a ton of up or down motion, but that's due to XTB's head design and not a fault of the longer neck piece.

    2023-01-28 09.00.43.jpg 2023-01-28 09.00.56.jpg 2023-01-28 09.01.18.jpg

The default missile armatures on the shoulder are just too loose. The new pieces don't lock into place, but detents in the joint, and friction, are enough to keep the missiles fairly secure in place.

If you hold the toy while gravity is dragging the shoulder missiles down, the joint still stays in place. I even violently shook the toy, and the shoulder armatures stayed in this position, which is a lot more than I can say about the default joints.

The same detents and friction keep the launchers in place for truck mode. No, it doesn't lock in place, but it's a hell of a lot firmer than the default armatures. You can finally have symmetrical launchers in truck mode! Here are the missile launchers at the side of the truck:
    2023-01-28 12.09.49.jpg 2023-01-28 12.10.29.jpg

These pieces are just as capable of transforming so that the launchers are at the front of the trailer. No partsforming.

No, the dark blue isn't an exact match for XTB's dark blue, but it's a hell of a lot better than the default gray pieces. If you're not looking closely at the figure, or if I didn't use the flash when taking the photos, the armatures essentially disappear.

I rate myself 3 or 4 out of 10 on customizing skill. Replacing the neck joint only requires a screwdriver. Removing the shoulder armatures does require you to knock out some pins, but that is very easily accomplished with a steady hand, holding your breath, and a flat-tipped screwdriver to push out the pins.

    Darn good product!

Having finally captured Galvatron, Ultra Magnus made him pose for a mugshot.

I drink from my Galvatron mug every time I visit my parents. Sadly, the Magnus cup didn't survive as long.

    @transformer_78

I would like to buy the next extension and middle blast please?

    Thank you.

Do you think xtb would sell individual faces?

would be awesome if someone could find and post the other video.

mine just arrived from bbts and has so many issues. Left arm came right off after not even a full rotation, front hub skirt piece is completely loose and the matrix literally fell apart in my hands.

the figure looks great and I was excited to receive it. But come on xtb! Arms staying in place is fundamental. Anyone that has a copy where arms don't rotate off the body?

A video of the arrangement and its process would be perfect... of all the arrangements of this figure and so with the tutorial video to see how to do it and solve problems of the figure... if someone dares to do it.

Sorry to hear that man. My copy has no issues whatsoever. For me it's one of the better figures in my collection.

I've had mine for a couple months now and again my only issue was how tough it is to slide the lower arm down for the double jointed elbow. He's one of the most solid and stable figures I own. Sorry for those getting bad ones. Makes me wonder if different batches were made before and after improvements or something. I don't know.

From all the YouTube reviews, I thought the rotating arm thing was a common issue.
Glad to hear that some of you have solid figures. I reached out to xtransbots to see if I could get some replacement parts. Hope they will come through!

Took a look at the issue for the arm rotating all the off (when turned opposite direction of the screw thread).

Wouldn't putting some super glue on the screw threads lock this in place and allow free rotation? Anyone try that?

Since Stack's shoulder tampo things have now completely worn away, I stole a couple of Toyhax stickers from MP22. They needed a bit of trimming, but they look okay.

It's just a shame that this was necessary...

This was my solution, glue the screws and grease the screw heads. No bother since
