We just need a new Submarauder figure which can be repurposed as Gilmer, and boom- we've got a complete set of Masterforce Decepticon Pretenders!
I wonder if Dinoking will be an exclusive this year or retail for next year’s line. I really hope they release as a set and not as 6 cores.
You know, I might be crazy, and I might actually speak this into existence if hasbro realizes mold reuse potential, but especially with the how the guns attach, does anyone else see a pretender Starscream out of this?
Yes !!!!!L please complete the master force guys now , in this style /way , if you can’t give us the full pretender gimmick that is . Preordered 4 to show my support !
Absolutely. I think it would be weirder if Longtooth weren't done in the same style as the Decepticon Pretenders, both because his shell design lends itself to the merged aesthetic better than the humanoid ones, and his name doesn't make as much sense if he's reduced to a regular truck guy. If they'd rather keep the Autobot Pretenders fully robotic looking they could always borrow from his IDW1 design.
Unfortunately there's even less space inside his chest cavity in robot mode due to his entire nose cone having to Matryoska dollify inside it. Would've been a pretty sweet idea, though.
I wouldn't be opposed to a Thunderwing in idw2 style. I looked it up and I actually really like that design. Off topic , but when I looked thunderwing up I saw a design for idw2 Airachnid, which I now hope we get in legacy.
I love this design all the way through, but yeah, same here. I see what happened here. The original toy used the gun handle to also peg into the jet mode. So as guns they have the notched fin sticking up, but in jet mode they stick out to the side which left the tiny fins sticking up and pretty much blended into the fuselage. Since this new mold uses a different connection to peg into the jet mode, the notched fins end up in the opposite orientation. Which ones you cut off depends on if you prefer the toy version (taller red fins) or the animation / artwork version (taller grey fins). I am undecided until I actually get this guy in hands. You should see the G1 figure.
This figure turned out way better than "Metalhawk as a Cyclonus retool" ever should have. Can't wait to get him.
Yeah, but if it's an assortment of Titan Masters, Core Class, Deluxes, and Voyagers, some as a blend of their Pretender shell, some as a their core robot only, that's a hodge-podge no one wants.
More or less this, except I think he should work more like Star Saber. The inner robot would be a smallish Deluxe and would form the torso of the 'shell' and mount on the front of the combined vehicle mode. He'd end up too compromised like this as a Leader, like WFC Ultra Magnus. He probably wouldn't be quite as bad since a smaller inner robot would let them spend a little more on the shell, but definitely not as good as he deserves to be. I'm totally fine with him being a Leader if there's no inner robot but if he's going to have one, he needs to be Commander.
