Hey everyone! I'm beginning to work on my Esmeral custom. I don't have the figure yet so I'm just modeling the head sculpt rn. I usually use the program Tinkercad to model since I find it easy to use. However I find it extremely challenging to model heads with it. If anyone has any suggestions on what to do whether it be using Tinkercad or some other program it would be appreciated.

Here I add that while Blender is probably the best tool for head sculpts it does take a bit of effort to get in to but they have recently updated their interface to be more beginner friendly. Another plus is that if you learn it you can do a lot more than in Tinkercad.

 

I use Blender. I wouldn't even attempt modelling a face, robotic or otherwise, in a CAD program.

I have only used Blender once or twice in the past and sucked at it. I really hope I can get better with it!

 

Here she is now. On to modeling the helmet!

 

Helmet has been started!

 

Well I'm finally working on this again. And I came up with an idea for her helmet! I went on to cults and grabbed myself and already existing head (in this case Jazz) made by EDDB. Then I started modifying it to fit Esmeral. Here is how it is going so far!

 

Headcrest is beginning to take shape!

 

Helmet nearly Complete! all that's left is to stuff the face inside and get the ears made.

I am almost finished with Esmeral's headsculpt except I'm having a problem with her eyes. (This is blender btw) Every time I try to fill in the edges from the face to the plane it doesn't work. I have tried filling verticies, edges, and faces and still nothing. I hope someone can help.

Decided to color the head and slap it onto my old digibash

 

Waiting a little bit to work on this again. I have to get Twinferno before seeing what I want to do.

 

I filled in the eyes thanks to the help of some people in the 3d printed transformers thread. I also ordered a junker Titans return Twinferno which is missing the head and the wings. I was already planning on making replacement wings for Esmeral anyway so it all works out.

 

Twinferno has arrived!! I'll begin modeling some other stuff later tonight! I still have to get a variety of paints and wait until it gets above freezing but overall I'm really excited!

Haslab Deathsaurus is around the same size as VS so I have him for reference
