Yeah a little bit skinny, I do get what your saying though, if that Lugnut was maybe a Leader or just as the size class he was thicker and build wider he would have been perfect and better than he already is.
You know, I could see people bitching about his colors the same way they did for RID Scouge.

I still only miss the sharper eye visor, and that’s the only real nitpick. Otherwise this is as good as I could have hoped. I will say that the design in the concept art comparison looks even better than the toy itself, I’d be happy to see that in animation or a comic.

For mine would be I wish the handbars weren’t where they where, the thighs to be less thicc, and his shins to not be a-symmetrical (but mostly cause I personally prefer symmetrical designs) and for the gold paint on the shin like the drawing. But overall it could have been worse.

And agreed I’d love to see that drawing used in something, so cool to not be used again.

Quick edit to give him the 2007 visor, maybe the top of his head needed to be adjusted but still already better.

I reckon the idea behind the larger visors is a 80’s aviator sunglasses vibe, keeping with the police officer look

I wish the artist behind this Prowl designed every Legacy toy. He absurdly absolutely nailed it. He understands that even in G1 you had people like Scourge and Galvatron who had lots of curved and muscular shapes, and he applies it flawlessly. It's hard to make something that evokes TFA while fitting with G1, but he managed it. SO GLAD he kept the big chin, it gives him a fair amount of personality and I would've rioted if he did not have a long face.

I think they did an amazing job with this Prowl. As someone who grew up with animated and the bayverse movies, I love the look of him and can’t wait for my preorder to come in!

Same, grew up with Animated the Bay films, Prowl being the only Deluxe from Animated I had, and I look forward to getting this guy.

It helps that his alt mode allows for the curves. Bulkhead's alt mode was much too blocky.

As a huge fan of Animated, there are several figures I'd like to see; mostly characters who didn't get a figure and one who got a poorer one, like Cybertron Mode Megatron and Slipstream.

TBH, I really like the look of Megatron's Cybertronian mode from the Almanac, but with two toys at the time, neither was anything like it. A Legacy version of it should be quite impressive as a leader.

Absolute perfection. I'm generally out of the collecting game these days for mass retail but this guy is a worthy exception.

The Takara version is the correct purple so there is that.

However, I still disagree that even overlooking the primary color problem, RtS Lugnut is still recognizably the same character. The Animated guy goes from a vaguely WWII-cockpit style bomber with two massive bombs covered in black/yellow hazard stripes into a hunchbacked cyclops with two-toe feet. The RTS version is basically the same thing, just trades out the bombs for hazard-striped jet engines that form the shoulders (which is still keeping with the general layout of details from Animated Lugnut) and the tail mace is swapped for the awkward hip-firing missile launcher. Hell, more importantly, the RTS gave him the single most Lugnut thing of all - the POKE as an actual, functional toy gimmick, with hands that also are closer to the original than they appear in that they're more pincer-like so long as the outside fingers are only moved together instead of independently.

I don't think you give the RTS figure enough credit for how close it actually stays to Lugnut's design.

The 5mm holes in the forearms absolutely make me think we could see a Sidecar armor option down the road.

I mean that's fair but with the robot mode not doing it for me I am very disappointed at the bike. I value both modes equally. And yeah you could say that but atleast most of those toys might have some things better than previous ones. But for Prowl I can't find myself any area that I might enjoy more than the original. It's objectively a worse figure in every aspect and I might go hunt for the original at this point. Also sorry but I don't get your example with ROTF Leader Prime. Aside from the fact that it obviously almost beats every Leader Prime and perhaps even the MPM as a toy, I don't think he is the best movie Prime. Because imo people want different Primes for their own different reasons.
