I like em both and will probably end up picking up the SS Bee. Will be on a trip to Germany by march or april so hopefully the SS get released in other countries by then lol.

 

Okay now these are some gimmicks I can get behind. Really want the croc gun the most, although might have to paint his cheeks, brain keeps making me think his arms are attached to his head because you know same plastic color.

Seriously please let there be more of these guys in future waves. Also maybe repaint some of the battlemaster guys that come with Prime and co. Would rather not have to get Prime just to get that wolf chainsaw.

 

I mean… not really though? Like a bird head coming out of his chest, with wings that resemble bird wings seems more like a crossover between Airrazor and Bee to me than the suggestion that Bumblebee will get a Beast Mode. Just seems like a stretch.

His off-road mode is a redesign, which I’m counting as an upgrade. But if he’s getting stabbed and either dies or gets injured, as you said, a good portion of the movie will likely be dedicated to his recovery, which doesn’t leave a whole lot of time for him to gain a whole other mode. Also would be weird if the character named Bumblebee turned into a beast that wasn’t a bee, and even if he was a bee, that wouldn’t connect at all to the bird coming out of his chest in the gimmick figure.

I mean there’s a fair amount of people who are already confused between Optimus Primal and Optimus Prime, considering they share almost the same name and similar designs. It’s easy for TF fans to get since we all understand by now that they’re separate characters, but people who don’t know the scoop already might not see it as being that easy. I also just don’t see Leo Prime happening. It’d be a weird departure and be an odd choice to reference a Japanese exclusive character who only recently got a Legacy toy, and there’s been nothing to suggest his inclusion.

Bee had four different alt modes in BBM, but the toys for them released really far apart as a result, well after the movie’s impact was over. Also, the movie was literally about Bumblebee and featured a limited cast, while ROTB has a much more packed robot cast and Bumblebee doesn’t seem to be as major of a character as he used to be. So they don’t really need to be packing the toyline with a bunch of Bumblebees. Two alt modes is one thing, that’s normal. Three is pushing it.

It’s not a matter of audience confusion as it is just packing the movie with too much. I just don’t see it happening. It’s not about what I want; seeing a Leo Prime-inspired Optimus would be cool. It just isn’t likely that it’ll happen, and there really isn’t much evidence to suggest it happening.

 

I like the weaponizer gimmick when it appears, so I’ll grab those if I have the money. That gimmick makes more immediate sense as an upgrade accomplished by teaming up with a smaller bot than say a headmaster or a mini-con does.

 

Skullcruncher has a history of being used as a weapon. This is the only thing I remember him doing in English language G1.

 

OMG, Bumblebee with an Angry Bird in his chest and Gattling Rhiaunus. 2023 is truly the year that everyone stopped giving AF.

I know I'm probably not the only one to have picked up on this, but I'm willing to bet that this was the brainchild of someone at Hasbro who either was a long-time Beast Wars fan, or they saw the episode "The Low Road" and said 'Hey, let's make this obscure reference to the time that Rhinox blasted Megatron into a tree with a fart!'

 

I just realized the Beast Combiners are just Arms Change from Kamen Rider Gaim but with animals instead of fruit.

I'm liking this mainline more and more.

 

Dammit, I'd probably buy the Beast Combiner and the Battle Master.

Love the concept and the presentation so far, and Battle Master being an animal makes a good pet for the bots. And it's 5mm too so can be used for other line!

I think my main focus will be the animal weapon master (Beast Battlemaster? Or is it Beast Weaponizer?) Cause I love the concept of a bot and their pet. Here's hoping there's Dog one for Thundercracker.

Also, Cheetor weapon master for Cheetor will make it like his kid lmao.

This was suggested in the movieverse toy thread but it would be cool if they painted this blue to be comic movie ROTF Rumble. If not it's not a bad custom thing.
