The first one looks like it was solely intended to be Prime Skyquake & Dreadwing. However the final version while more accurate also looks like they have it designed in such a way that it can work as a pretool for G1 Skyquake & the repaints that entails as I doubt they would've been able to give us the Predators if they were brand new molds.

I do wonder if they have an alternate G1 accurate head made as iirc a while back they mentioned every figure they make has an alternate head with only some seeing the light of day.

If I'm wrong on that last thing let me know, but I could've sworn they mentioned that in an interview last year.

 

Very thankful that Hasbro listened to complaints and increased the respect and likeness to the inherent appeal of the original designs. This is the kind of G1-fication I dreamed of years ago, and I will buy them all.

 

Same, it all is very interesting and I'm not 100% shocked cause I remember Mark having a IG page, then instantly deleting it due to fans bitching at him in the comments about Bulkhead. But I'm glad in the end everything worked out and things changed and I'm curious now seeing as there is a sketch of Skyquake pre-feedback, what Prowl looked like.

 

The redesign is a thousand times better, but the original doesn’t look that bad to be honest. I’m glad they got wind of the feedback in time.

 

I wouldn't be mad if it got released as a new original character.

 

If there's one critique I have, the shoulders seem pretty big, but really it's not a big deal. I'll probably get it once it releases.

 

Too bad all the copper paint got cut.

 

I like both designs to be honest but the final result is still pretty damn good and they can go back to the even more G1-inspired look once that they do a G1 Skyquake retool (which is bound to happen).

 

I wonder if it not might have since he said the colors on the copy he has aren't final.

 

The original design for bot mode isn't bad but I'm so glad we didn't get a Plain jet mode

 

Getting this and any repaints its epic.

Also the paint not being as it should be shows that some of these early reviews dont show the full item properly.

This is the seeker mold I’ve been waiting for. Unless I see something I don’t like in Skyquake, I intend on having a fleet of redecos. I’m so stoked for Dreadwing!

 

I'm not interested in this particular version, but I'm in for the inevitable redeco (and the inevitable Predator jet redeco of Needlenose), especially if he has a Machine Wars Starscream/G1 Skyquake head.

 

It won’t happen at all but I would for sure buy a repaint into a G1-ified movie Starscream with at least a new head.

This digibash by Decagon especially would differentiate it from Machine Wars Starscream.

 

I want all the repaints now. Euro skyquake, machine wars starscream, King Atlas, etc.

 

Love that they took the feedback seriously and delivered a way better figure / design for this Skyquake. Also love that Skyquake is getting a Leader Class figure in 2023.

My one nitpick is that it's unfortunate the wings in robot mode got flipped over in the final product. It looks way better in the artwork with the tips pointed down.

 

That is interesting, so It started out with a more G1 bot mode & more Prime alt mode, and then they reversed the design philosophy.
Yeah, I'm ok with that in this case.

 

What stinks is that the wing flaps at the end are pinned so you can’t detach them and flip them down.

 

I would buy that in a heartbeat!
