Does anyone else have issues with mpg-01 Shouki's hip ratchets being so weak Shouki keeps falling backwards? The backpack keeps pulling his torso back from just the vibrations of people walking around the room.

Mine has some backwards lean, but otherwise stands up just fine.

I think the backwards lean is design intent because the knees hyper extend forward. Supposed to give that hips forward pose that all japanese mecha have.

Its been like this out of the box. Im pretty sure I can use a stand to keep him upright or maybe carefully remove the backpack to reduce the weight.

 

Silly as it sounds, make sure you have the feet rotated enough that they are completely flat. Mines tended to lean at first and then I realized I wasnt extending the feet around enough to lay flat.

 

bummer might be able to tighten the ratchet if you do not want to try and exchange it

 

Right, so I thought it would be... you know... new. And well-cared-for, and protected, and touched-up before being used in official promotional videos.
"Fucking FFS." Why so angry? I just thought Takara's photography was usually better than this, but it's not a big deal. Just a curiosity.

 

none of the previous hand painted figures have been pristine and well cared for. they are prototypes just to make sure every thing works as it's suppose to. it's impressive most of the time the figures hold together.

it's why i a lot of early samples are misstransformed or the kibble is messy. it is literally barely holding together and can't be transformed fully with out breaking.

 

Think 3P renders have started to rot people brains and Takara overestimates that people know what early prototypes look like.

With Skyfire likely not happening till March for most of us, I have to admit, I'm pretty stoked for Kaen. I'm eager to see how they are going to tidy up that block prototype to actually look like something.
