We're reaching levels of nitpick that shouldn't be possible.

Honestly taking a caliper to some paint apps is too far

He can - there’s a photo of him holding it in a thread somewhere. Maybe the Star Saber Appreciation thread?

Let me sum this thread up in a nutshell

    I will bitch about heat
    I will bitch about cold
    I will bitch about sunshine
    and about growing old

    I will bitch about everything
    inside and out
You will find there is nothing
    I can't bitch about

Someone needs to illustrate a book of this in the style of Green Eggs and Ham.

Over in the PR fandom/forums there's people who routinely order as many of a figure as possible to tear open boxes and pour through paint apps for "the best" before mailing the rest back as "defective." (because returning a defective product usually comes with free return shipping compared to returning an extra or something you changed your mind about)

This kicks Hasbro's ass because those figures can't get put back on shelves like a typical return where someone is simply returning an extra or unwanted product. And it's especially harmful at retail because stores see a bunch of "defective" product coming back tied to a given brand and make future purchasing decisions based on how much that may impact their total sales. (Which, again, these people buy MULTIPLE copies at stores to tear open and pour through to analyze paint apps.

So I absolutely do not blame them for requiring more detailed information about a product that's being claimed as "defective" prior to a return. This way as they get "defective" product back they can get a feel for what is being called "defective" and if it's actually defective, and if it's actually defective the info they gather can help trace potential trends in a given batch back to a factory or even specific production run.

It sucks for people who have genuine problems, but it's the same reason you lock your doors when you leave the house. Sure someone who wants in will break in. But it keeps the honest people from abusing the system.

Argh, sorry, I looked around through a bunch of threads but couldn't find it. So now I can't guarantee I didn't hallucinate it. I'm pretty darned sure I saw it, very recently.

I'm curious what you think astigmatism is, because I don't believe it applies here.
