Could just wait a year after release (if youve got a decent PC), it's likely to end up on PC in time since Sony is porting more and more games.

I thought about that, although I think there was some ungodly amount of time between Spider-Man 1 being ported. I'd honestly love to go PS5 but I can make due with my PS4 Pro so long as games are offered on both like God of War etc.

There was, but Spider-Man also came out a good long while before Sony was doing PC ports. In 2022 a Sony person said to expect a roughly 1 year delay between console release and PC port for their exclusive titles moving forward.

I believe God of War Ragnarok was confirmed to be Sony’s last major AAA game that will be shared on both platforms. Spider-Man 2 will be PS5 only or like Fenrys have said it will be on PC eventually.

Yes, but Spider-Man Miles Morales was also only PS5, till it wasn't. All that listing means is that upon release there will only be a PS5 version and according to the Playstation Chief a PC port will take at least a year to release.

Sony bought a studio specifically to do ports of their 1st party games, and set up Playstation Studios as a means of releasing them. PC ports have also been pretty profitable for Sony, so they're not stopping any time soon, they're just not advertising the ports till they're actually ready to release them.

Dude, you aren’t really reading what I’m saying. I’m not talking about PC. I said yes it will be on PC. I have never said it will not be on PC. I’m talking PS4.

When Miles Morales was announced it was announced as a cross gen game PS4 and PS5. Sony has confirmed that the upcoming Marvel games won’t be on PS4, they are PS5 only when it comes to consoles.

My bad, misread what you were saying. Thought you were talking about PS5/PC not PS4/PS5

my wife picked up one for our 15th anniversary. so far I have gow:r (bundle), stray, ff7r:i, nfs unbound and horizon thanks to the psn sale.

is there anything else that is must play right now? I've had my series x since the beginning of last year so I'm covered on most multiplatform releases, just wanted the good exclusives.

I highly recommend both Spider-Man games. They are a joy.

I went from a PS3, to a PS4 for two-weeks before giving it to my wife’s son. Six month passed and then I randomly splurged on the PS5 when I discovered it was available and affordable (Ragnarok bundle, but I have to play GoW first). Now I just ordered the VR2 Horizon bundle this morning as a birthday present (releases that week).

Slippery slope it is, this gaming…

XD Man I just now checked back on this thread. Now I have a new worry though, with reports of the liquid metal issues? Is it the thermal paste on the processor or something that's melting? Ickk....

Yeah, but I'm hearing it's not an issue indicative of every model, that it's kinda random? Need to do more research, thought I'd just see what the consensus on the issue was here.

    You shouldn't really worry about.

The problem is if the seal is not good. It'll "leak" cause gravity (while powered on cause also heat). The fact that you need a stand for horizontal means they built it more for vertical orientation.

As for the causes, bumping/dropping/etc. and then the occasional defective unit.

Pc uses the same thing and it can happen if the fan is not seated correctly, too much paste is used, etc.

If anything, and you wanna be safe, sit it horizontal.

Just going to put it out there - if it was an anniversary game, may I suggest the GOTY of 2021, It Takes Two?

Hopefully whoever already pre-ordered it gets theirs.

I'm sorry.. but this is a case of "Well.. What the hell did you think would happen?" I mean the PSVR2 is more expansive than PS5.
