Florida readies to take control of the Reedy Creek Improvement District. They are expected to appoint a new board to control Reedy Creek, which has been run by Disney since its creation in 1967 Under the proposed legislation, Disney will no longer control its own government, will live under the same laws as everyone else, will be responsible for their outstanding debts, and will pay their fair share of taxes. The planned legislation will ensure that the Mouse House will pay upward of $700 million in unsecured debt accumulated by Reedy Creek Improvement District — and not Orange County taxpayers.
Ain't this the fella that got kicked out for being too touchy feely and then went on to make a shitety movie about the luck of the Irish for Apple tv? Who cares.
Disney Bob Chapek, Iger, Nelson Peltz Timeline Explained - Variety Disney issued a blistering statement on activist investor Nelson Peltz’s bid to join its board https://www.cnbc.com/2023/01/18/disney-peltz-proxy-fight-board-also-light-on-media-experience.html So on top of everything else Disney now has issues with it's board and groups trying to change it.
I don't know if someone said Disney is losing money of Disney+ returns but this could be their solution: Releasing physical media when every company insists physical media is dead. https://twitter.com/TheDiscFather/status/1620110527795171330
Does seem like they could do a timed release of D+ shows that will still get people to want D+. Maybe wait 1.5-2 years after it comes to D+, then release it on Blu-Ray. People will still want to get D+ when everyone is talking about the show. Each Blu-Ray will cost at least 3x the monthly D+ price.
Looks like a mystery disney movie has been set for dec for theatres. No one knows what this movie is but reports it's a disney plus film. Stitch? (That was rumored to have been pushed to theatres already so doubtful), peter pan and wendy? Who knows? Domestic Release Schedule - Box Office Mojo
Disney Explores the Sale of More Films and TV Series to Rivals Disney may have a deeper financial hole than even I thought they were. If they start selling parts of the company as well it's proof how desperate a situation they are actually in.
LOL Can't even read the article without signing up for the site. Clickbait title. They are licensing, not selling. AKA, they still own it, just letting it be aired on someone else's channel. So if Paramount+ really wanted Home Improvement (I think Disney owns it) on their service, Disney would rent it to them. Disney still owns it. When the terms of the deal are up, Disney can rent it to someone else if they want.
I know that, but Disney has been hoarding IP(one of the reasons they bought fox) licensing it is something they have been avoiding since they canceled the marvel Netflix shows. It means they need more money than they have been claiming and are doing moves similar to Hbo max. Another company not in good shape. As I said if they start selling businesses they don't need or properties they are in more financial trouble than people realize. That would be the next step. They have a lot of stuff going on right now, a fight in the board room, an investor fight, Disney World Union wants more money, They lost a billion dollars last year. They settled with a whistleblower saying they were cooking their books. The company is not in great shape right now. The whole entertainment industry has been making bad decisions for the last several years and it's catching up with them. If you watch the money you look for signs to see how stable the company is.

Disney Will Not Fight State Takeover by Ron DeSantis Administration - Variety And with Disney being so low on money it's not worth it for them to fight it.
It's worth noting that they're still keeping all of their special perks and not much is going to change for them really. Except that they'll have to kiss DeSantis ring from now on. Which is what he wanted to begin with. This is also a far cry from him dissolving the district like he and Florida Republicans originally wanted. Let's be real. The whole thing is a power flex. Disney to Keep Special Perks for Special Tax District – The Hollywood Reporter
True but Disney now has to get approval and they still have an extra 70 million in debt they now can’t pass off on Reddy Creek. (And who knows what other stuff they were doing we will only find out about later)
Oh, I do expect we'll find out that Disney has been doing some shady shit for years. Get the popcorn ready. As far as them having to get approval for future projects, etc. I expect there won't be much trouble as long as they continue to keep their mouths shut and restart their political financial contributions. Like I said, they're going to have to kiss the ring moving forward.
