I was lucky enough to score an extra AT-ST and TIE Fighter when they were $6. Saw another AT-ST the other day and rang it up to see if it had reduced further and... it rang up for $16.99. So that was a nope.
Should be getting Mara Jade in pretty soon. Either tomorrow or at least by Monday, also new SHF Fett should be here in at least a week. Lots of good stuff coming up!
Have there been any rumors or talk about hasbro expanding the retro line? I’d love to see new Ewoks and droids figures get produced. I lost the ones I had as a kid and the prices are never easy to swallow on buying vintage
@lord ginrai thanks again for getting me into this f-toys line. Even found an Enterprise from them. Have you applied the stickers/waterslides to the ETA-2 Jedi Starfighters? Not really sure what I’m supposed to do with these.
Awesome, glad you were able to score a few! I actually don’t have the Starfighters so I’m not certain either. I don’t think any of the other vehicles I got had any decals. Found this pic of them that I think may have decals applied? But maybe those markings were already there. Hope that helps.
Here’s some quick pictures of the latest Luke. Finally Hasbro has given a “decent” ROTJ Luke…IMO SHF Luke (Mando) is still the best in terms of likeness. Best Hasbro Luke likeness is still the latest ESB ones. Oh well… …the greatest western (science) fiction character (IMO) having a throw-down with the greatest eastern fiction character. (IMO) LOL!
Imo Jazzwares made a mistake with its selection of chase figures. Asoka, Hera, and Sabien are popular characters in SW, especially with the female demographic, by making these difficult to find and limited, Jazzwares is probably going to lose possible larger sales numbers and exposure of the line. An argument can be made that if with these three characters in particular, if X more amount of people were to buy those character's ships, and Y percentage were not normal buyers of the line, that a percentage of the Y group maybe inclined to buy a few other pieces to accompany those character's ships. Also congrats Arduos on the find.
I’m a little surprised they’re doing chase units at all. Star Wars is known for having multiple ships in just about every scene, like the scene over Yavin with multiple XWings and YWings. I would have probably bought multiple XWings if they were all different in order to make a little squadron - given the price point - but I’m not chasing anything. Casually interested folks would probably take any Xwing - basically I don’t think they would lose a sale if a Luke weren’t on the peg as long as it were an XWing. Also they could short pack lesser known characters if they were concerned those werent gonna sell. Oh well, I guess we’ll see where they go with it.
How’s the rest of the figure? Looks like hip articulation is impacted by the skirt. How much is a reuse?
Not to steal the spotlight from @ShootingtheGalaxy, I don't recall that this was posted as all (or was it)? Mara Jade has actually been found overseas, posted on Youtube two weeks ago.
If I’m not mistaken, this Luke is a new (?) figure. The arms and legs are different from the last ROTJ Luke : that used most of the body parts the first ROTJ DS Luke. Even the body of the newest Luke looks different, it seems smaller. His legs or hips attic is indeed hindered by his tunic…the plastic isn’t soft enough. But he’s freaking Luke Skywalker so I’ll have him standing stoically on my desk. LOL! …wow, I gave to check my import stores.
Love it! I hope they release them with their season 2 armor sometime. I passed on them the first time around but I'm now glad I did because I much prefer their new looks.
Yesterday I found 2 of the 4 MGS Target-exclusive "Grand Army of the Republic" Battle Packs with the Republic Gunship, extra minifigs, and BARC Speeder all for the same price as the regular Gunship itself; I found one style at one store then the other much later in the day, so I ended up picking up both to decide today. The Coruscant Guard set is a clean look with an inverse of the tradition Republic Gunship red on off-white deco except the spine remains off-white, and the accent mark is a large Republic symbol cleanly detailed to the front quarter; it's inaccurate to The Clone Wars as it's supposed to have a red canopy on the white spine, also the troopers aren't painted like Coruscant Guard troopers. Meanwhile, the Separatist Nightmare gunship has the traditional colorscheme except in green instead of red, the ship is sporting a rather weathered look which isn't quite accurate but looks nice, the accent mark is a large stylized Clone Trooper helmet with the ship's name in aurebesh; however unlike the ship seen on The Clone Wars where the accent mark was large and over the midpoint, this one has the accent mark smaller at the front quarter. They still don't include enough figures to actually put inside the ship, so there's enough for a pilot, a co-pilot, two turret gunners and a guy to drive the BARC Speeder, but nobody to use the troop-holding clips. I figure I'll leave the co-pilot and the BARC Speeder empty, put those guys on the clips instead. As for which one to keep, my interest initially was leaning towards the Crumb Bomber one that I've not seen in person as it's the regular ship plus a little Salacious Crumb nose art thing, but I think I like the Separatist Nightmare ship here looks pretty good. I like the Corsucant Guard one, but the white canopy over white spine doesn't quite work for me and the figures aren't painted as guards. I think it makes sense to do chase ships when it's something like X-wing variants where casual fans aren't going to be as likely to show interest in those versions, this way if they wouldn't won't sell as well, doing them at a slightly smaller run makes sense to keep them popular instead of pegwarming. The rare version of Luke's X-wing from The Mandalorian is too small a run for my tastes, I've never seen one in person, these should be a little less common but not mere scalperbait. With Hera I can understand why that one's a 15,000 run size, but with Sabine a 5000 run is too small, it's really too cautious and overcorrects.
