I don't understand the hate for RID15. If it's because it's a "bad sequel" to Prime then people would hate Prime for being a "bad sequel" to the WFC games.

 

It was partially how bad a sequel it was, but it was mostly that it was just flat out bad. Annoying characters, bad writing, and treated its audience (kids) like they’re stupid.

 

I didn't get that impression.

 

I agree on the Vehicons. In the first episode, Arcee was losing to two of them until Bumblebee showed up and then the two of them were able to get the upper hand but I still didn't get the impression it was a cakewalk. So it was established that they were a threat to be taken seriously. Pretty much from then on, however, Vehicons were dropping like flies.

I think you completely missed the point with Dreadwing, though. It wasn't so much that Megatron "chose" Starscream over him (even though he said something to the effect of "don't make me regret which of you I chose"). It was that Dreadwing was standing there ready to smoke Screamer and refused to stand down when Megatron told him to. If the roles had been reversed, Megatron would've just as quickly dropped Starscream instead. Hell, Megatron would kill Soundwave for that level of insubordination.

Also, something that never really comes across in any of the shows: while Starscream is a conniving little backstabber and a coward, he's also an incredibly competent warrior. There's a reason Megatron has him command his troops (makes him his second in command and then, when Shockwave arrives, keeps Starscream as his second in military matters despite Shockwave being second in others). Starscream is a coward when he's losing but he's fucking ruthless when he's got the upper hand (and downright conniving in finding ways to get the upper hand - just ask Arcee). Megatron keeps him because he's useful and because he knows he can keep Screamer's treachery in check.

 

The best parts of RID15 were the direct links to TFP, like Starscream's attempt at revenge, Soundwave tracking down Megatron, the fates of Bulkhead, Arcee, and Ratchet. I enjoyed Fracture quite a bit, but the kiddification of the storytelling really hurt it overall.

 

I understood the point with Dreadwing. I still hate what happened. He could have just disarmed him. Not dis-Sparked him.

Yeah they tried to explain it a bit with some small details here and there, with dreadwing basically being the friendliest yet least friendliest decepticon possible. But simply put, they couldn't afford the candy man.

Well two things. I don't really prime as a sequel to the games. It was too loosely connected as it is, but Dark Spark and RID15 made them even worse in terms of keeping up cannon. RID 15's main "issue" was the tonal shift (and the characters left a lot to be desired). They wanted a more kiddie show, which is ok, but their mistake was connecting it to prime, since it's a relatively more adult show, with a different audience.

 

That's why it gets the nickname "Disaligned Discontinuity". Lol

 

This is gorgeous. If the quality is up to par I'll buy one. As everyone knows the blue is off... he's also missing his chrome.

 

Has it been confirmed whether he's coming with the Matrix? The one that came with the R.E.D. fig looks sick.

 

Btw, pretty sure this is the wrong thread for this figure. This thread is for the older Prime that released a few years back and fell apart as soon as you looked at him. NOCV started a new thread for the larger revised figures back in May when it was announced.
