Maybe since its on a simple mushroom peg, a 3P will make a new lion head and mane, maybe even one with the full on mechanism for Lio Typhoon that doesn't have any aesthetic drawbacks like a big pole sticking out from the lions head.



There's also opportunity for 3P add on front legs with better Lio Claw, maybe slightly more articulated paws.

Of course I'm happy with the stock package overall, im just interested to see what 3P may come up with.

 

Got Hot Shot or as I prefer Micron Legend Hot Rod, pretty cool deluxe. Mine has weird qc problem with lack of tab in his feet and stress mark at left side of his left knee.

Welp I finished Armada for the first time a few days ago, so I suppose its only fitting that Hot Shot is not only my first Legacy Evo figure but my first figure of 2023.

I seem to have won the QC lottery as I don't seem to have any of the reported issues. This guy is so much more solid than Starscream and it feels nice. The leg design is pretty iffy, but I'm not as bothered by it as I thought.

He is really vibrant, like they used the most vibrant shade of yellow and he really stands out on my "legacy/post G1" shelf.

His transformation is actually pretty fun unlike Starscream's and the car mode looks pretty good. Tho I will say the color matching with the roof is pretty bad, but not horrible. I will say that removing the engine gun from car mode is a pain, and I am a little concerned about the longevity of the clear plastic roof, but otherwise its solid. I do find it interesting that Hot Shot clearly has the minicon ports for Jolt, while Starscream doesn't have the ports for Swindle. Odd.

I find that the star saber fits Hot Shot a lot better than it does Starscream. Overall Hot Shot is a lot more fun than I thought, I doubt he'll end up on my best of 2023 list, but he's a pretty solid first impression of legacy evo and he has restored my faith in the Armada updates. I am actively praying that Armada Prime & Megatron are great, especially Prime.


Also a powerlinx redeco for Hot Shot would be sweet, and a Thundercracker redeco of Starscream would be cool too (if they fix all the QC issues with it).

 

If they do the Powerlinx thing they'll do something off putting like making him grin.
