Pros:
* Robot mode looks pretty nice, making the best of the remolded parts. (if you don't bother splitting up the car hood)
* At least on mine, car mode is rock-solid, with all parts fitting nice and flush, which is more than I can say for some Legacy Stunticons.
* I do like how the gun hides under the hood of the car.

Cons:
* Obviously not a Lambo, being a mild remold of Wildrider, which is disappointing especially as all the others are good visual matches for their G1 vehicle forms. There's other things that could have been done, like painting extra framework on the windows, for example
* The removable car spoiler-as-blade-weapon is stupid AF. IMO it should have been split into two pieces so it could be left in place on the legs if desired (or just make the spoiler part of that updated molding on the rear of the car and be done with it.

Overall: I don't think it's the worst Stunticon objectively, but it's the most disappointing from being 75% Wildrider.

Menasor: It's an impressive boy. I get that a lot of people don't like the way it was handled, but I see it the same way I see every time a new toy is made of a character they've done previously. It's the "Last time they did (X), so this time they do (Y)" approach. We had the 'Scramble City" toy-inspired approach with Combiner Wars and Legacy worked to make something more solid, poseable, and based on the cartoon appearance. Not what everyone wants, but you can't deny there's a segment of the fan base who were looking for exactly that.

 

You will never please an entire fandom no matter what they do. It's impossible. This figure does tick the cartoon vibe and looks better than the cw one. I thought that was a mess especially on the legs. Sunbow is some fans continuity and some fans never picked up a tf comic in anger, there also fans believe it or not who bought the g1 figures but never saw a cartoon or read the comic and made up their own stories.

Nice bot mode, an okay altmode but won't really be seen as part of menasor

 

He’s definitely not as bad as people are saying. He’ll make a wonderful robo calf muscle.

 

Got mine today and the windshield did not want to budge past 90degrees. Had to open him up and shave him a bit because there was no clearance.


Then i decided to split the spoiler because i'm sure i'll lose it if I use it as a boomerang or whatever...

Can't see the cut but i haven't sanded it flat yet

 

my breakdown has no qc issues cept it can't close the damn panels on Menasor's leg all the way.

Turns out the stupid caked up paint in the peg holes messed it up and all I had to do was roll a q tip with rubbing alcohol inside to fix it.

 

I added window stripes using a sticker sheet from eBay that I got for Legends Scourge. It's not perfect but it'll do

Either budget (being the times we dwell in, plus it’s just always a thief in the night as far as this hobby goes) demanded so little remolding as an alt thanks to some Sunbow frames of animation, or that they have just flown to close the the sun in regards to how much they could look like a Lamborghin without licensing. In any case I don’t care because the bot mode looks so nice, lacking the clunky primitive look of the CW mold and looking svelte in pose. just give me a damn 3rd Larry solution for that damned spoiler.

It was a long day yesterday.

I was happy to find they had delivered it in the mail, until I realized it was in a box too big to fit out of the customer door of a cluster box, so I’m outside, freezing in the dark, trying saw open the side of packaging box with a key trying to be mindful I had a figure box in there, because there was no way I was waiting another day for that thing.

 

Got him a few days ago, but wasn't home, then I was busy, so it opened today. He seems to be slightly better than Wildrider copy wise, but it's still not a great TF. However, Menasor is complete and I'm honestly not sure in my old age if he's ever going to not be Menasor to be honest.

 

The blue paint on my copy's lower legs gave me a TFPTSD attack. I flashed back to opening my Victory Saber. Them paint aps got me pretty bad.

I'm a bad to the bone tfcollector what don't give no damns or shits, but I don't think I can get over that thick ass glommed on paint.

 

Amazon delivered Breakdown yesterday, and right out of the box I notice the gun and spoiler being shipped in the same bag has caused paint transfer onto the spoiler, it rubbed off with a little work but it's still a "wtf you thinkin'?!"

I was so excited to finish Menasor once I got to Wildrider, but now he never will feel entirely finished. It's just a leg filler panel that isn't even seen from the front, but Breakdown is such a miss.

Alt mode snaps together very firmly, there's no more dangly feet underneath or gaps on the rear half. The alt mode weapon storage under the front end works pretty well and is solid.

But the alt mode is otherwise a mess. They barely painted the alt mode at all, just the decepticon logo over a red trapezoid, white on the canopy parts, and a blue trim line at the bottom -- no taillights, no black line on the door intake, the blue doesn't go over the wheel arches. The sculpt feels really blah in white, the spoiler looks too big and totally out of place on this type of car, the rear end sculpt is atrocious and awkward, the upper half of the back doesn't match the lower half geometry, the whole thing highlights how bad the long windows without B-pillars look. The white snap-on pegs for the rear wheel hubs look terrible.

Bot mode keeps the theme of plainness going, but as with alt mode everything is tighter than Wildrider. The Wildrider parts were never that good to begin with, not much detail and it's all shallow; the new parts are more of the same but the new chest has an especially simple design and soft sculpt, and they left out the Decepticon logo on the chest entirely. The legs add hollowness at the bottom from Wildrider's design. The spoiler blade weapon peg doesn't reach his hand without clumsily angling it; the blaster is a bit hollow and the paint is sloppy; the combined weapon looks like nothing. The lower legs are painted blue on the front, it looks good but on some samples the paint in the 5mm mounting pegs is too thick (my sample does not have that problem, thankfully). The silver chest paint at least hides the screws showing in front a little.

As leg filler it's fine but nothing outstanding, car bent up at the front just like Wildrider.

Overall: gray zone between D+ and C-
This is a weak update to an already-weak Legacy figure, on its own it's a middling shadow of Wildrider, although the mold finally works better. But worse, it's an absolute shame that Hasbro went the ultra budget route on a $25 MSRP toy that was meant to be the finish line to a $190 MSRP set.

Pretty underwhelmed with this one. It seemed like the further we went in to the limb bots the more meh they became.

I don't mind this guy much except that spoiler. Ain't foolin' nobody Hasbro.

 

Spoiler is fine - once you cut it. It's not a big deal. Stupid that we have to do it, but it solves every problem with it.

Owning a sharp knife should be a rule for collecting, you're going to need it.

 

Anything you have to do yourself is a knock against the toy. Doesn't matter if I can mod the figure into a masterpiece. It's just silly they tried to push this off as a weapon.
