Thank you! I was lucky enough to score a commission from Kei in 2018… fantastic artist.

This maybe the reason why MMC stops doing new mold for the reformatted line! This mold has huge potential!

Me too! Black Metal style Scourge doing 'The Claw' :D

I got this guy in today and I think it's my favourite deco of the mold so far - so glad to finally have one of my favourite Prime looks in plastic form.

Now I'm wondering what MMC would have to do to make me buy this guy a fourth time. I think it would have to be something VERY different or bloody spectacular tbh.

I finally found some poses to put these guys in! I've got Stormbringer Prime on the way, so the band will have a new member soon :D  Love these guys, I've found that the colour changes and the head sculpts really do give these guys their own personalities :)  20230113_140235.jpg 20230113_135742.jpg

Got my Optus Prominon in from ShowZ today; quick thoughts compared to Pexus and some notes:
    1. It's been a good long while since I got him, but I don't remember Pexus' joints being this tight out of the box. Take care with the thigh swivel and the piece that connects the leg to the waist.
    2. New sideskirts are much better.
    3. Head ball joint is loose to the point of floppiness, especially after replacing it with the alternate sculpt. Can be easily fixed, but annoying nonetheless.
    4. Clearance issues with the transformation using the alternate head sculpt. Can't seem to get it to fit under the windshield piece like it should.
    5. Small bits of sprues left on the plastic.
    6. The additional weapons are awesome. Definitely gonna spend a lot of time fiddling with them!

When you have all four and pose them if you also have DS Blaster you should have him doing mixing in the background.

Any tips on what I could so the thigh swivel on this guy is a bit less scary to handle?

Get your hands in some silicone shock oil. It's a non-reactive lubricant meant for the shocks on RC cars. Fairly cheap to get your hands on. I personally use Traxxas #1666, 30wt. Anything similar should work just fine however. A lil' drop will do you. Just get a drop into the joint, let it seep in for a second or two, then start gently working the joint back and forth. Really solid tool for any collector to help with seized or otherwise over-tight joints.

Would something like WD-40 do the trick or not?

It would, but WD-40 is damaging to certain plastics. I wouldn't risk it. Silicone shock oil is your friend here.

Use dish soap if you won't do the shock oil

You really want the shock oil, as others have noted. The silicone is non-reactive, unlike WD-40. Plus one little bottle of it will go a long, loooong way.

Stellar looking piece, got mine in from TCP. Took one look at it, felt like I did about Pexus… bloody awesome, not my cup of tea. I think it’s because I don’t hate non-transforming figures, so the 3K version just did this better for me.

Never removed from the plastic, asking $115 shipped to your door. PM me :) . Box included ofc.

Got mine yesterday, absolutely love it! The new paint job, head-sculpt and accessories really go a long way to helping it feel like a whole new experience, even after having the original Optus Pex.
