Continuing from yesterday's post about how cohesive the cartoon-accurate direction has made my masterpiece-scale collection for most of my S1 Autobot team... with Takara'sSkyfireon the way, I think we are 60%-70% done in terms of having a G1-S1 cartoon-accurate core Autobot team.

The remaining characters in need of a cartoon-accurate upgrade (excluding Dinobots for the time being) are... in my opinion:



Once this has been achieved, there will be no more wars, famine or disease.. and all will be right with the world! 

As for the Decepticons, well.. with the advent of MP-52 or the DS counterparts, we've pretty much already achieved a cartoon-accurate core S1 Decepticon team!!



Takara's Shockwave, or the more affordable KO counterpart really nails it in terms of a cartoon-accurate Shockwave (though I guess I wish he was about 0.75 of an inch taller).



I probably have the minority opinion here, but I think FansToys did an admirable job early on with their Spotter... and they really scratch my personal itch for a reasonably cartoon-accurate Reflector!



Once again... this time under the name RobotParadise, they've delivered is a truly wonderful, cartoon-accurate Soundwave!



And of course, there's MP-36, or the various 4P/KO offerings... for the perfectly menacing, cartoon-accurate Megatron!!



I could end it here... BOOM!! S1 Decepticons core team... all very cartoon-accurate!! But we've also got the robotic creepy-crawlies to think about... the Insecticons!!



Not perfect, no matter which manufacturer's version you own... but they're all pretty close to being cartoon-accurate... with some minor missteps from each manufacturer. It will be interesting to see what an updated set of cartoon-accurate Insecticons would look like!!

Nevertheless, for all practical purposes... we've got a cartoon-accurate S1 core Decepticon roster!!



For those taking the plunge, X-Transbots appears to be continuing this trend with their Constructicons. Assuming there's no scraped paint or any other deal-breaking QC issues, their Constructicons could complete a full S1 Decepticon roster by sometime in 2024!!

I am rooting for a return to the XTB of 2017 - 2019, when they were on a streak of very successful releases with minimal QC issues... but, I temper my hopes with a dose of reality every time I think about my copy of Gravestone's trailer, or my copy of Virtus, or my copy of Boost, or my copy of... etc...

But, until then... between Takara, DeformationSpace, FansToys and/or the MakeToys Seekers... a cohesive, fully posable/transformable, core S1 Decepticon team has been achieved!!
