I love his colors and I like his robot mode despite the simple transformation, but the jet mode just doesn't do it for me and I'm still so on the fence about picking him up. I really wish he could've been done as a Voyager. If he could've just gotten more complex engineering to clean up the jet mode a little better, made him a tiny bit bigger and given him a clear cockpit so he looks better with the Seekers, and properly fleshed out the Targetmasters he'd be a slam dunk.

But that would be make him way bigger than spinister, and its not a big character to begin with

Some where wondering rumors of Needlenose pegging into Skyquake. Well just to point out, it is quite difficult to do so. Partly because 2 pegs on Skyquake has to be like squeezed in and the holes in Needlenose's chest are snugged. I think pegging it in this once is all I can do.

I don't want him to be that much bigger, just enough to pack more complex engineering in there to clean up the jet mode. I'd want him to be a small Voyager, which would probably only make him half a head taller at most than he is now as a large Deluxe.

After seeing this thing a bit more I'm actually starting to like it. If it goes on a decent sale I'll consider buying it, im more curious what a repaint would look like or what this can be retooled into.

I had to pick this up, as Needlenose was one of my favorite figures as a kid.
Love the colors, love the headsculpt.
The transformation is simple, which is fine with me.
The plastic feels pretty good, despite the figure being so light.
I don't particularly mind the nosecone hanging so low, but the hollow limbs are pretty ridiculous. I'm not usually one to complain about this sort of thing, but it really stands out on this figure. I'll allow the back of the legs, since they're designed that way for the transformation, but the thighs and forearms are hollow for absolutely no reason.

If you're picking this up for G1 nostalgia, go for it.
If you're looking for a deluxe worth $25, this ain't it.

He can probably be retooled into 95% of all jet characters, to varying levels of success.

I don't remember where else I said it but it wasn't in this thread... So my two cents on the issue is Terrorsaur! The jet cockpit and wings are arranged in the same way as his beast kibble *should* be (I'm glaring at my buzzworthy Terrorsaur's wings), he's got a much more accurate height than the last Terrorsaur we got, and if they went for just a repaint and new head he'd still work as a pre-earth Terrorsaur. What do y'all think?

That would mean doing the others bw characters as pre-earth cybertronian mold, i'm not sure HasTak is willing to go on that trend when they just finished the first season cast (and bonus) over 3 toylines

After fiddling with it for a bit, I have to say, I like it. Sure, it is a jet with a robot block underneath. I don't care. It is a fun toy. The colors are great and that headsculpt! Awesome stuff.

The tolerances on Needlenose is super solid and no QC issues (unlike ALL the figures in the previous wave minus BW Inferno)!

The only turd in Evolution wave 1 is *probably* Breakdown, which I don't have in hand yet. But I digress. :p

Needlenose is a figure you pick up and fiddle with on a whim! It's near perfect at a deluxe offering (there isn't much that will piss you off when you have it in hand, lol).

9/10, A do not miss if you love Transformers! :thumb

    Thanks!
I wanted to see the size of the side fins on needlenose tailfin aside spinister tail, since i want to remove them, i wondered if i could use them to add on my custom spinister to make the tail of the chopper more like the g1 which has horizontal stabilizers

Wouldn't it make more sense then to reposition the already existing fins on Spinister, since you're considering removing them anyway?
