Oh because I plan to get UW Menasor so how do I prolong him from breaking then?

As mentioned above, some of us has talked about using superglue (i would recommend epoxy) to glue the peg halves together and see if that holds up better.

Not sure if that actually works, though.

It's a type of plastic based adhesive. When used properly, it's a lot stronger than superglue. Also better for uneven surfaces or surfaces with small gaps.

Main negatives: It's stinky and needs adequate ventilation. It also needs a lot longer cure time compared to superglue...even the "5 minute" stuff.

There's also a negative regarding heat generation...but that only applies to using large amounts.

With both superglue and epoxy, ideally you would need to scuff the surfaces with a file or lower grit sandpaper first. The goal is not to remove material but to increase surface area. This gives something for the adhesive to bind to. Wipe off the plastic dust with a cloth. Then apply a very thin layer of epoxy and hold together until it cures. I use clear 5 minute epoxy [misnomer and may actually need up to 20-30 minutes to cure]. After curing, wait 8-24 hours for the epoxy to adequately harden. If there's any excess, you can cut that off after it cures with a razor or even peel off with your finger nail if it's thin enough.

    Edit: I use this stuff:
    https://www.jbweld.com/product/clearweld-pro-size

They seemed to have changed their formula. Their older stuff used to leave a slight yellow tint. Their newer stuff cures clear. I dunno how to identify which is old versus new stock, though.

Hi guys, sorry to necrobump, but I have a UW set with perfect effect torso upgrade and hard to tell but I think the diaper may have saved him all these years since it locks the waist articulation permanently :D . Can anyone say if this has helped mitigate it on theirs as well? I’ve never experienced GPS before and am hoping that the lack of torso movement once the kit has been installed has helped it. Or should I expect it to just crumble on the shelf even with the kit. :(

I have the first release of this set and my motormaster has held up fine. I recently pulled them out of storage and transformed him multiple times. I remember reading this issue was more common on the reissue, but cant confirm.

Stupid question but how do you tell the difference between the original and the reissue?

Good to know. I think mine is a first run set, but I can’t tell otherwise.
