We've come a long way baby, getting from there to here....

 

Chanced a look in my local stores in Torquay and Newton abbot. Torquay had Blitzwing for £33 and Minerva for £26. Newton abbot had a box they were putting out which had a Creatures Collide set. I asked to check what the price was...£45!!! You guys that ordered theirs online may have got a bargain but I would check what they charged just in case they made an extra charge before delivery to claw back the extra.

 

Bah, mine is still at 'we are expecting it'

 

They can refuse to sell it and take it off sale. They dont have to honour the price mistake but might give it as a gesture of goodwill

 

Cheers for that. Apart from Sonner, Nerd Toys was the one I was most concerned about, but at least it was only 10% down. I've ordered from elsewhere... had to pay a bit of a late tax on it now, but at least I've got it. Can't decide whether to claim back the deposit from NT as my PP order still has 9 days left before the 6 month limit runs out, or take a chance and see if it comes in anyway and make a bit of money reselling it... it's only 3 quid.

 

Not a rumour, it's happening in the next CMF series which is a slight shame but we've had 13 years of feeling up bags at least! Seems that the spaceman is the one everyone's after - even Lego are well aware of this!

 

Part of Lego Company's drive to cut down plastic packaging; I think the September series is the first confirmed to come in boxes, similar to the Vidyo figures.

 

Pretty sure that'd be illegal. YOu can't agree the contract and then sneakily charge more.

Oh that is a shame. There's something fun about the hunt that adds to the whole experience, plus it's a nice excuse to go to a brick and mortar retailer. Not sure I see a downside to the squeezing, except maybe that less desirable figures are left on the peg? (Surely incentive to make them all killer, no filler?)

Oddly enough, Smyths had a limit of 5 minifigures that an individual could buy at one time. So... I bought 5. And my partner, next in the queue, bought the 6th one.

 

I don't know what Fans Hobby do to their moulds, but in any that I've got multiples of, I don't notice any difference from the first to last. 5 versions of power baser, and all the joints and tolerances are as good as each other. Same with Flame Breaker, Kap and Pyro, or the leg sections of the monster bots.

Power Commander is the same again. Naval Commander has had... two? three? runs so far, and now here it is again, and honestly, if anything, some bits are fractionally tighter than on NC.

Anyway. He's good. Fans hobby transformers are one of the few exceptions I'll make for my rule* of only own 1 copy of a mould to avoid the collection getting out of hand**

I've not yet swapped the trousers on them because I can't get at NC for the moment, but it's something that needs to be done, like black power baser in fire guts god armour.

I got a dispatch notification from BBB today to say FH Doubledealer is on the way, and I am very much looking forward to that. And to think it's not an awful lot more expensive than the earthrise one, but comes with the powermasters rather than having to hunt for a gen selects set!

Don't pre-order with C&C unless you really want an item because they will not give you your 10% deposit back.

 

NC had three runs, iirc correctly they only intended to do two but the demand was so high once people got the second run and gushed over it since the first run had all those issues, I can’t wait to get Power Commander and the Galvatron I don’t remember what they’ve called him

 

I'm afraid I hold the opposite opinion. I really don't have the patience to spend ages feeling up children's toys in the shop so that I get the 'right' one. Boxes would mean that scalpers don't automatically load up on the most desirable minifigs and everyone has the same chance of getting what they want. If it has to be blind packaging, it might as well be properly blind.

I've always hated the feet on the original, it basically stops it being poseable, very happy to have Titan Class Megalo Convoy in my collection as I sold by Galaxy Force version years ago.

 

Won’t lie, I think Skywasp amd Ransack are the nicest bots in the set, Ransack improves on Kickback too somehow

 

I have the Galaxy Force version in my Legends of Cybertron collection - if he comes with a Legends figure to show the scale, he’s in scale with a Legends figure, which means he’s Legends scale.  

Plus I wanted the metallic version of Galaxy Convoy.

 

Anyone still waiting on Tarn from IDT? Seen some have got him, and some have got dispatch emails, but I've had nothing and it's all paid up (and he's ordered alongside SG Soundwave, which is in stock so that's not holding it up..)
