wHY mY sHoUlDErS hUrT? vs wHy mY lEGs hUrT?

Got Hot Shit Shot for Christmas, so spent the last day or so tinkering with him.

Honestly, aside from the horrible legs, I'm not seeing a lot of the complaints here?

    IMG_20221225_180152362.jpg

He's far from perfect, or even particularly good, but this is still the best Armada Hot Shot we've had....unless you're one for gimmicks, which I've hated since day 1.

    IMG_20221225_175117859_HDR.jpg

The alt mode definitely looks off, and had its proportions clearly compromised for robot mode, but I'd rather a wonky car and serviceable robot mode, than a good alt mode, with a practically non-functioning robot mode attached (looks at you, Universe Hot Shot).

Articulation is more or less what you want in a modern figure, and the axlezooka is fun to see back - no spring-loaded flips & pew-pews anymore, but if the trade-off is moving arms and an actual head, instead of a moulded face melting into the backpack, I'll take it anyday.

Lack of Minicon is meh, but looking at what Peacemaker did to Pointblank's budget, I'll happily wait for a separate Jolt release.....or just use an older one, since the Minicon ports are compatible.

    IMG_20221226_225703348.jpg

Overall, this figure's not exactly my JaAm, but he'll do the trick next to the upcoming Commander Class Armada Prime!

Peacemaker did absolutely nothing to Pointblank's budget. Peacemaker is the only accessory Pointblank comes with, and Peacemaker has the exact same parts count as the accessory parts count of almost every other Legacy 1 deluxe. And less parts than the Arcee mold's accessories. Whatever happened to Pointblank's budget, it was not Peacemaker.

That said, an accurate Jolt 100% would have destroyed Hotshot's budget, and every one complaining about his exclusion is in complete denial about that.

No auto-deploying claws, no auto-deploying/firing axlezooka, no Minicon... Looks like Hot Shot got starscreamed.

Yup, I know Peacemaker didn't directly impact Pointblank on his own, but the designers were forced to cut back on him, and I'm just saying the piddly Targetmaster could only have added to the constraint.

Hot Shot would have either had his axlezooka & engine block nixed, or Jolt would've been another solid block of plastic with a single hinge to transform, if he'd been included.

More like he got CHUGged. No Generations/Studio Series figure has had spring-loaded gimmicks for around a decade now.

If you are looking for spring-loaded gimmicks I would look at the stuff based on the shows. The Earthspark Warrior Optimus looks to be a good one, and the Cyberverse Onesteps are quite cute. But this Hot Shot has articulation and engineering that does not need to take that stuff into account.
I would not be expecting Optimus' trailer to stand itself up later either, cool as that would be.

Looks good. I sold Universe Hot Shot when this listing was leaked, and I’m glad I did. The Jolt included with that one was crap too. I’ll pick this up and I’m not even an Armada fan.

We all know there will be an upgrade kit with a proper Jolt, blast effects for the axle, and some other pointless accessories soon enough.

Pretty solid figure. Cybertron Hot Shot was my Hot Shot but always had a fondness for this design and was never tempted by aftermarket prices or reviews of his previous figures to track down older versions.

Only complaint would probably be the mismatched yellows on the top of his roof in car mode. Though I'm the same person who isn't bothered the mismatching on ER Sunstreaker so I can live but I'd imagine it'd annoy others more.

Armada Hot Shot was my first TF figure that got me into the brand. 20 years later, this update is a very welcome one. Lack of Jolt be damned.

Yes he has his issues, but hey, I'm enjoying him and am happy with him.

Now we just need Red Alert. With Optimus being this year's commander, i'd love to have the Armada OG trio together again

Yeah I was never into the show when it aired but I did love the ps2 game so I'm gonna be collecting all of those characters. (I always like Demolishers design so I would pick him up too)

I'm happy with him. Though I am a bit worried about the tab for the hood (the black tab). After a few transformations it's starting to get a stress mark and it's really difficult to un-tab it when going back to robot mode

The lack of a Minicon is disappointing. The rest are upgrades in my opinion.

Thank God for that. I HATE firing missiles and spring loaded gimmicks.

A little Future polish takes care of that problem.

I love this figure. It’s not perfect, but it’s the best Armada Hot Shot toy, IMO. I hated the Universe one. It was so damn fiddly… I got him today and have been fiddling with him since I got him. The legs are a bit unfortunate, but the rest is a great update.

I got in Hot Shot & Needlenose from Amazon yesterday. This is the first Armada Hot Shot I've owned. The only other ones I have are the PRiD retool of PRiD Bumblebee, and the Gen Selects retool of Siege Hound. And I've gotta say, I really like him. Way more than I was expecting too. I think the only thing I actively dislike is the lack of double-jointed elbows. I know Hasbro has problems with color matching paint a lot of times, but they did a pretty good job matching all the black paint at least. Namely the black side skirt stripes on yellow plastic, and the black paint on the feet, which I'm fairly sure is the gunmetal plastic of the wheels and arms.

Just got Hot Shot yesterday and he's pretty awesome.

I feel that the Star Saber that came with Armada Starscream goes better with Hot Shot (it just seemed too tiny when Starscream holds it).

Hot Shot's Mini-Con port gives me hope that we will be getting Mini-Cons at some point!

Hoping it's not just there for decoration/homage. :p

Solid effort, 8/10 absolute recommend if you are an Armada fan! :thumb

This is so much better than Universe Hot Shot. I don’t understand how that isn’t the unanimous opinion. Universe had such bad kibble that got in the way of articulation and the whole upper body looked way off.

Evo looks like Hot Shot in both modes and aside from the knees not going all the way to 90°, the articulation is great. The transformation is fun and the Axle-zooka is back.

Give it a chance if you like the character or Armada in general.
