What's the problem? It's a set that is relatively affordable as 3P options go, and held up pretty well over the years.

 

The giftset had the og blastoff torso and missing missile pods. They are pretty much the same figs across the different releases. The sly strike update gave us upgraded air blast torso and better combiner ankles.

 

Old engineering, fussy to transform, ankles that snap if you sneeze on it wrong (you may still be able to source shapeways replacements for $$$). He charges an assload for shipping, depending on where you are. He takes a while to ship, and then he doesn't keep up with stock on his website-- better to ask him if he actually has it before placing the order. I gave mine away.

Just relative to ordering MMC Bruticus or even Zeta if you want a nice one that might cost you the same or less factoring in shipping would get you a much more pleasant and satisfying experience overall.

Just my opinion tho, buy what you want, ofc.

I never really found the transformation finicky, honestly, and I guess the ankles might be an issue worth being careful over. Shipping is of course, dependent on where you are relative to him, but the difference between standard shipping and EMS is a couple of bucks. I've always found him pleasant to deal with, and never had an issue with him shipping my stuff out late. Going with the EMS option, I typically get my stuff within the week, honestly.

I've had my Not-Bruticus sitting in the box for over a year, just never got around to opening him. Really like the figure and he'll look great on a shelf even if some of the engineering is dated. But I am having one issue so far - I simply cannot disconnect "Blast Off" from "Onslaught". Pushing the button doesn't seem to make a difference and I am afraid of breaking something. Any suggestions?

 

Dissamble, brute force or try to put some oil inside.

 

It's a common issue pretty much on every copy of the figure as far as I know. I forget the specifics, but there are how-to's out there for how to fix it. If I remember right, I did not force it due to fear of breaking it. I remember unscrewing something completely to get the joint to disconnect, filing something off in the joint, and then putting it back together.

 

One of the tabs you have to push in is too long so when you bottom it out it is still sticking far enough out to keep it together. I used a small flat head screwdriver to scrape it down inside the slot.

 

Use a spudger or a very small flathead screwdriver (jeweler's is best), apply pressure to the tab and he'll disengage. Open up that connector and remove the spring as well as the locking piece, then put the connector back together. Friction, alone, is more than enough to keep Bruticus in one piece. (I have mine in a baggie.)

 

Tried spudger and screwdriver. Didn't work. Once I get them apart I will do as you suggest.

 

I had the same iusse. You'll need another person, but 3 would be best. One person presses down the 2 taps in the combiner port while the other holds onsault and tries to pull away from blast off.

 

This happened to mine as well and I had to use a drill to get blastoff off. It sucked and really turned me off the whole figure

 

Hello yall, i know this figure is old as shit. But the shop i frequent online for my country has this guy on sale for 88 USD, heard the Jinbao KO sucks ass so I'd like to get opinions here before maybe pulling the trigger

From my perspective, it is, I have the original and I stills like it very much and a new one for 88 bucks is amazing for me (mine cost more or less 600 in the time). For a CHUG collection it appears to me the best option, much more better than the original Combiner Wars and for 88, is a very fun toy to play with only is you don't want to have it in your "official collection".

 

I have the jinbao ko and i really like it. It’s not as good as other offering but as those are 2 or more times the price i think it’s pretty good all things considered.

 

mainly considering because it seems like a very detailed and stylized figure, and there seems to be no other alternative for that. all everyone wants to do is g1, g1 and g1 for bruticus it seems. honestly getting sick of how many there are and will be now that magic square is making one
