Please let me understand: To who says "i would switch wheels with skids/burnout", front wheels is an easy task, but the rear one how do you think to remove that PIN?

Sad part is, I can actually see that looking alright.
The whole rear wheel assembly pops out. No pin punching needed.

Comparing the color breakdown of Crosscut and Skids, it appears the wheels, fists, hips and hip skirts, shins, neck plate, and biceps are all on one sprue. It is interesting to me that the G1 and MP toys seem to have black hips, so that might have been a better option (G1 and MP had silver biceps, so black may have looked better there too).

This looks like a good idea. How were you able to get the shoulder off? I'm looking at Skid's should and I can't seem to find a position that gives enough clearance.

Very carefully lol. I had to rotate the shoulder down into the hood to expose the mushroom peg, and there was just barely enough clearance to wiggle it out from the back. Let me get a pic real quick.

EDIT: Here we go! Fold the shoulder assembly into the chest like you would for transformation, but keep going. Once you fold it in far enough, you should be able to see the mushroom peg. Give it a good wiggle as you pull, and it should pop right out.

Except most people don't enjoy customizing their figures, so Hasbro prioritized the accuracy of the robot mode over that of the alt.

Elita-1 has painted wheels and they roll like crap on a stick.
So I'm glad they aren't painted because I'd rather do it myself.

That's Diaclone. Also, the blue one was the only one reused for G1.
All the others were released way later mostly as exclusives or MP.
And the red Skids (not Reboost) has never been used in G1 at all.

Legacy Elita-1 has wheels cast in transparent blue, painted all over in matte white - including the clips which function as axles - and then painted over again to add matte black tyres!

    Madness!

Indeed. Might be worth it to strip off the paint.

    There's an idea.
For my part I have a few extra Skids and Burnouts ready to customize.
Swapped heads one Skids and one Burnout so I can give Burnout the correct head and have a mostly black base for a custom Reboost should a proper release not materialize.
Another Burnout is in reserve to become Screech.
And my third Skids will become Diaclone Universe D-42 Backstop.

    Yup... that's certainly a Crosscut.

Although considering his wheels, should I call him Costcut?

I think I’d prefer the accuracy of the vehicle mode. Sometimes due to a different transformation, especially if a character is repainted from a new toy they weren’t originally associated with, the colors in one mode won’t be accurate to how they were originally.

So because of the way Skytread transforms being different to the original Slamdance, the colors of Slamdance’s robot mode are reversed as his vehicle modes stay the same color as they originally were. And I’m okay with that.

I could be wrong but apparently the whole wheel assembly will pop out with a hard pull.
