Has anyone here as an issue getting ahold of TFSource? They says they shipped my Jive on December 18th. But, there’s been no movement on the tracking number, which says “Tracking not supported for aci-ws aci parcel select”. I have emailed them several times and even called. No response. Very frustrated.

Idk. Between the reports of breakages and Jive being a head too tall for my taste, right now I think I'll be happy with Downbeat for a little bit longer and see what TT does in a couple of years.

That's the thing...great CS is expensive. The cost of all those replacements needs to be covered by healthy margins.

Checked again, apparently shipped 5 days ago and already in the UK, so looks like they've been late with updating the accounts.

You can now reenact that scene from that movie!

    Or sooner, perhaps?

I don't have Jive (sticking with Downbeat because it fits better with my preferances), but I'm kind of getting the impression that this was perhaps rushed out a bit.

That impression combined with Hastak releasing two TF's that transform into a Porsche-but-not-Porsche, ss86 Jazz and L Dead End, the potential MP Cliffjumper that's barely recognisable as a Porsche, and Mirage as a Porsche for the upcoming movie, does not make it impossible that HasTak have come to some sort of agreement. And that would make a MP Jazz a bit more likely. Maybe not as a licensed Porsche, but as the cartoon model that sort of resembles one.

Got mine in today from Showz. So far really loving the way he looks. A big improvement over Downbeat.

Well the year is only 4 days old, so he's both the best AND the worst :D

Been messing around with Jive more the last few days. So far, he's one of my favorites of 2022.

Transformation was kind of middle ground for me. Not too simple, but not overly difficult. No issues so far, but still putting Jive through the paces.

Sorry to hear others were having issues with the figure. Hope those issues can get resolved.

Still want to take more photos, but here are a few so far. Because there was no sign of RoboToyBase getting Jive in for a while (I have it on preorder there), I paid a little over the odds on eBay to get one in time for Christmas. I'm really glad I did - he's one of my favourite figures for some time, and I'll be happy to own two.

Just look at that face sculpt!

    1-HeadSculpt.jpg

FansToys' best face sculpt in my opinion. I can hear Scatman Crothers every time I look at it, so perfectly does it capture the cartoon.

The shoulders were way too tight out of the box so I did @Jarrod's fix:

    2-ShoulderFix.jpg

It's so much nicer to handle now. (I think I need to take a little more off the spring, as I note that Jarrod's still sits a bit flusher than mine.) The fix was painful because the spring was so tough. My wire cutters sliced through the screw with no problem, but the spring damaged two sets of cutters. In the end I got a Dremel on it.

The transformation is a funny one. I actually think its design is really good. However, I think it needed a little longer in testing to iron out areas that are a little too tight or close. The first couple of times through I, like a couple of others here, felt like throwing it across the room. Rotating the sides of the legs in particular led to a lot of frustration until I figured out the best way of doing it. And pulling the roof out when transforming back to robot mode can be a little awkward too, as you have to bend down the bonnet first.

Now that I've got the hang of it, it's no longer frustrating, just a little time-consuming to get everything right. (I must have transformed him around ten times.) I even find it quite a rewarding transformation, because both modes are worth the effort. Love the alt mode:

I'm sorry to hear some people have duds that split in half or whose legs fall off, though. I hope you guys get replacements and get past the frustration stage.

I'm sorry that happened to you, too! The thin plastic tubes where one or two of my screws were appear to have broken. It's just not a design built for strength nor longevity. The dealer I bought from asked me to write Fanstoys as he claimed going through him would make the process take even longer. I'd be okay with that if FansToys responded. If they don't in another week, I'll tell the dealer and hope he can get a response from them. Otherwise, I've heard ShowZ can often help when others can't.

Wow, a dremel? I guess my 10 year old Walmart wire cutters are better than I thought, hahaha.

Also, thanks for taking some before and after photos, since I didn't think to. That should help some people.

Could you compress the spring in pliers to compact it?

Just finished transforming Badcube Jive. Wow! I fucking hate that transformation. I was frustrated getting him into car mode and disappointed that there were a couple small gaps I couldn't get to completely close (one of the hood seams in particular just refused). Then I was even more frustrated transforming him back. Several times I got stuck only to realize that the thing in the way was actually a moving part and I just didn't know it because it was stuck so tight. Fanstoys really needs to work on that - tight is good but only to a point. Honestly the transformation probably wouldn't even be bad if it weren't for everything being so tight. Well, except the wheel wells where you just kind of have to force the plastic - that part would suck no matter what. I had intended to put a symbol on the car hood before turning him back but decided that I didn't care since I'll never see his car mode again.

By the time I got him back to bot mode, I hated the toy and was trying to decide if I wanted to sell it. Then I attached his weapons and posed him and fell in love. I doubt I'll transform him again anytime soon, if ever, but the robot mode is just beautiful. It looks so good that it even won me over to the toon look - I actually think giving him his chrome and racing livery would make this figure look worse. And I'm a huge stickler for detailed Jazz. That's not to say there isn't room for improvement - in particular I'd like deeper elbow bend and fucking forward/backward ankle tilt!!! Seriously, why have MP figures gotten so much better everywhere else and yet they all seem to have lost their ankles. Without ankles, it's almost impossible to pose them with their hips and knees bent because you can't get their feet flat on the ground. His toe articulation helps (if you detach it from the heel), but that means he's balancing on a small surface. It's like the 3Ps saw the problem with loose ankles and stupidly decided the solution was no ankles at all.

I did that, but didn't trim to screw. My right shoulder was completely frozen due to the spring.

Sorry you are having trouble with replacement. I've had similar issues in the past when dealing with dealer/retailer/sellers whenever I'm trying to save a buck or two with cheaper prices... I always end up back with my handfull of reliables. ShowZ, HLJ and TFSource. As I have mentioned, TFSource had gotten back with me within hours and I have a full replacement on the way already. I pay the same (sometimes a bit less than other North American retailers) or a little more than china retail like ShowZ, but I get quick service. ShowZ is really good too but it takes about a month or more just in shipping. HLJ is also really good for non 3rd party imports but the few times I've had to do a return, the item was sold out and discontinued. They tend to not restock on the items I use them for. But I get a full refund. Anyway, keep at it and don't give up. I hope you solve this soon
