Late to this thread, has Hound been released in the US yet? So are we getting G1 reissues again or will this be just a couple characters and then done?

I don’t know if there’s been any official word from Hasbro on the status of the line. Everything has been sort of random all around. There is a wave mate for Hound based on product code numbers, but we don’t know who it is. A lot of wishing and speculation so far, but nothing concrete on who #4 is.

This seems to be done through Hasbro Pulse more than other reissue lines. In the past Pulse has continued making lines, as long as people buy them. With the reissue Star Wars and GI Joe stuff, Pulse is continuing to make the toys as long as there is support.

What I meant was if the line has a long future or is just a couple of releases. The only way we found out about Hound was via a leaked figure and more recently product code numbers for it. I haven’t seen anything from Hasbro about Hound yet much less the wave mate. I am aware that the first two figures are barely out.

if it sells well they'll do more. it's as simple as that

So what g1 figures have markedly different color schemes than their cartoon counterparts?

the first two that come to mind to me are Astrotrain and Galvatron. Galvey would be amazing but it’s not him.

Astrotrain though…. It could be him right? Like Hotrod and Starscream he was rereleased recently so we know they have the mold.

takara did a animation version too so it's possible

thundercracker is brighter in the cartoon, the insecticons would be good because they might make the clear yellow cockpits a solid yellow. cyclonus is another.

An animation accurate G1 Jazz would be fun.
That guy is full of chrome that could be turned grey. And the non-livery alt mode deco might look interesting on the OG.

I’d quite like G1 reissues repainted as Shattered Glass characters.

Isn't Perceptor aside from the mouthguard and chrome toon color already?

Pretty much, but his colors could be brighter, or softened a little. I new head sculpt would be pretty hard to pass up. There was a guy several years ago that was making custom Perceptor head casts that used the face of Inferno inside the helmet of Perceptor. It was spot on from my memory, but unfortunately I don’t think he makes them anymore.

It depends on how exact your definition of "the same" is. Some figures had retooled/recolored parts. Some figures only really differ by mold stampings. Some figures are different copies of the original mold.

Optimus Prime - not sure (never saw reissue)
Ultra Magnus - weird long missles, no springs
Hotrod - either this one or the next version had the shoulder pins removed
Starscream - weird long missles, no springs
Apex Optimus Prime - retracting fist Japanese version
Jazz - black gun, no springs, "the sneer"
Thundercracker - weird long missles, no springs
Bluestreak - black gun, no springs
Prowl - black gun, no springs
    Red Alert - no springs
Skywarp - weird long missles, no springs
    Hoist - stripped springs
    Tracks - seems the same
    Inferno - no springs
    Grapple - no springs
    Dirge - seems the same
    Sideswipe - no springs (assumed)
    Skids - seems the same
Stepper - not sure (never handled original)
    Astrotrain - black/white Japanese version

If you want to go down the rabbit hole of minor mold variations, even during the 1980s run, https://tfsquareone.blogspot.com/ or http://fredsworkshop.com/ is a good start.
