I totally get it, but me personally, I would have preferred they just didn’t do the “Sharkticon” reference at all. A minor gripe though. Love the other sound bites. Can’t wait for mine to arrive. I want all of the background characters from the 1986 movie. Bring on a Kranix!

Aliexpressicon and the Bailiff

 

They had a prototype for the Bailiff so I would expect that one next and eventually Gnaw. I do wish we got the other ship but this is par for the course. I had hoped they would do the other ship but it just made too much sense they were not going to spring for that big of a mold change. They did lower the price of this one because the last one was a giant mistake. The real question is will Gnaw be priced low enough for people to troop build. If its like the Junkions and gets around $90-$100 I think it works for them. If the market is this $130 I think it does alright but people are not going to support it like the Swarm. Also curious to see if we get Alicons.

 

The Quintesson Executioner was teased on one of the X-Transbots boxes, so the other slots I'm hoping would be the Sharkticons and Allicons.

Collectors will troop build these guys, but like others, I'm hoping the pricing is a bit more economical, so I can grab a few of these. Fingers crossed.

 

I'm about to buy a pack of 3 MP scale SS86 Shark robots for US$45, so anything XTB comes out with will have to be much better and quite affordable to get me interested. Since Crackup was released, I'm not sure I would say XTB has achieved both of these things.

 

I’d say the Scientist

 

I hope the sharkticons lose the electronics and just have poseable jaws and painted eyes. I’d buy 3 if it’s a reasonable price and not too gimmicky.

 

There’s no reason to believe the sharkticons would have electronics. They are putting electronics in those toys because they don’t transform, not because they are putting electronics in every character in this part of the movie. Sharkticons transform.

 

Hopefully, but they like electronics too much. It’s in their Magnus and Sweeps and those still transform.

 

Honestly, I was able to pick up oversized KO’s of the SS sharks for US$25 for three (from TaoBao).
If you’re looking to troop build a swarm of Sharks, that’s a much better option. A bunch of the KO’s in the background and one or two XTB’s to stand at the front and look good. Not sure I could justify more than a pair of XTB’s, even if they were under $100 a pop.
