Merry Christmas Everyone! May all your Holiday Dreams Come True!

 

Two favorites that I got are probably Legacy voyager Jhiaxus and Bulkhead. Two characters I had no attachment to yet these toys have so much petsonality.

Runner up is Legacy Menasor though I still only have Motormaster and Dragstrip (and the G2 repaint). Deadend is in my BBTS POL though.

 

Okay so I got Wreck n Rule Springer n Crankcase for Christmas… they’re both very, very good.

 

Nice!!! I need to catch up…

(I do have Breaker. Bonus: he looks like a Marvel comic Trailbreaker given the tone of blue used in those comics to represent black and no other changes.)

 

There's one last TF I've bought this year but I don't know if it'll show up before 2023, so maybe Legacy Inferno would've made the list otherwise.

HasLab Victory Saber. Now, yes, there do be QC issues and I had to sort out the annoying Wing Saber moulding error, but, my goodness, this set do be quite fantastic.
Legacy TMII Megatron. When it was initially revealed it didn't wow me, without any frame of reference to the size or anything he just looked weirdly small. Luckily after seeing actual size comparisons and now having him in-hand he's definitely not smol, in fact he's a certified Big Boi. Amazing update. Can't wait to see the other Transmetal/TMII updates!
Legacy Jhiaxus. I mean, just look at him. How could he not be ranked as one of the best TFs of the year?
Legacy Iguanus. There aren't many Pretenders I care about, but this guy just looked way too good to pass up on and despite being the lil' price point managed to set the bar absurdly high for Pretenders updates.
Legacy Tarantulas.

Holiday Optimus Prime. Now I really got kicked in the balls in the QC department what with mine having a completely snapped ab panel, but independent of that he's just a really cool take on Optimus. Transformation does some really cool things to get from truck to robot and I love the Christmasy/Father Christmas colour scheme (I'm a sucker for green clear plastic).

 

VS is definitely the best of the year.

I have most of these for my gobots collection.

 

Definitely adding Dragon Megs to the list.

 

There was a lot I liked this year, but if I had to name some:

• Puffer because that was the point I said "wow, that is really obscure"; I had been jokingly/seriously saying that we needed him ever since we knew Huffer was coming, and holy crap, it was like Hasbro answered the prayer of the one weirdo who really wanted Puffer (see my profile pic). I honestly can't remember if I got him early this year or late last year, but it doesn't matter, everytime I see him it makes me happy.
• Hauler took me by complete surprise; I love this dude and his action hero screaming face so much. Simple transformation, cool colors, and that FACE. I thought Artfire was the only version of this mold I needed, but I was wrong; I highly recommend Screamy McScreamface.
• Cosmos- aside from the horrible 1 per case store exclusive hunt (DON'T PULL THAT CRAP EVER AGAIN HASBRO), I love him. He's the G1-style chubster I've wanted since I first saw him in the cartoon.
• And of course, VS. I'm so glad I forked the money over; with Deathsaurus coming, I would have regretted it.

 

Love hauler too, but salty they whiffed on making the windows purple, such an easy shot away from glory.

Ah, nice never considered him as Marvel TB, that’s nice. Honestly, the lack of head update is part of what’s made me drag my feet on him, if he’d just gotten the toy head he’d be legendary, as is he feels a little bit like a miscoloured knock off. At least Lift Ticket got some alternate tampos.

 

Definitely Haslab Victory Saber.

 

I hear you, I had the original Trailbreaker as a kid. Something about the blue, though. Wonder what your thoughts are on the MP. He comes with the same animation-style head, another head with an alternate expression, but no original toy head. Missed opportunity, IMO.

The Earthrise version is commanding a decent amount online these days.

 

Here's my most favorite toys of the year. Huh, a lot of them are red.

And my favorite 3rd party toy is Commander Stack

 

Oh man, I think the MP looks like absolute poo, just terrible proportions. (Skids and Co. aside, MP has been dead to me since they went with the “animation accurate means no detail” Sunbow look)

Based on most of the recent ones though, doing yellow and/or blue Trailbreaker with a toy head though seems incredibly likely.

 

Somewhere in another universe, Ultra Magnus smiles, for his death in Headmasters has finally been avenged.
